A spokesperson with Georgia DOT explained in a written statement to The Sylvania Times, “most bridges in Georgia are locally owned. The Low Impact Bridge Program and Local Bridge Replacement Program helps local governments replace deficient bridges. The contractor selected to perform the work on the Ogeechee Creek Bridge, Clearwater Construction will prepare and maintain the detour around the closure of the bridge, which utilizes Waters Station Road, US 301/State Route 73, Goloid Church Road, Buck Road and Ogeechee Road.
