THE ATL ANTI AN
November 1914
22 PEOPLE PUT TO WORK
That’s the number—twenty-two—of men and women who have found employment in Atlanta
—in the plants and factories whose goods we have been calling your attention to. Think of it! What
has been accomplished in just a few days by telling Atlanta folks about the goods made here at their
doors. These twenty-two people were made happy—our patrons were delighted with the goods—and
we have been more than satisfied with the good work we have done and with the small profit we have
made. However, we want to do more of this good work.
Here is the list of new employees, put on by reason of increased business:
Atlanta Refining & Mfg. Co., makers of “Cotton Bloom shortening (also working day and night) 4
Dixie Pickle and Preserving Company, makers of apple butter, jellies, vinegar, kraut, etc. 10
White Provision Company, curers and packers of “Cornfield” hams, shoulders and bacon 5
Southern Broom Mfg. Co., makers of our “Royal,” “Victor” and other brooms and mops 3

In addition Mr. Wilder, of the D. R. Wilder Mfg. Co., who cans “Uniform” brand pure Georgia
cane syrup, states that on account of increased business he has been enabled to keep his entire force
at work. There has been no “let off” of men there.
The F. 0. Stone Baking Co. say that being always ready at a moment’s notice to supply 2,000 to
3,000 extra cakes, it hasn’t been necessary to increase its force, but Mr. Stone is delighted with the
large increase in business through our 52 stores, which has come during the past week.
E. A. Massa, the maker of fresh and fine horseradish, says he has been exceptionally busy since
we have been telling the people about his home-made horseradish.
And more fires than ever have been started by the use of the fine, dry kindling which we sell,
six bundles for a quarter, bundled by the Atlanta Kindling Wood Co.
