After the death of their late teach er Mr. Tuck, they immediately consult ed upon the utast beneficial method of filling the vacancy. The hostility of our •donate to strangers, evinced in the early and 1; meuted death of Mr. Tuck and al so by other numerous facts, induced the Board to enquire for some suitable per son who had la e.n previously accustomed to the climate, to undertake the manage ment of the school. Such a person was found in Mr. Joel Catliu who being dis posed to give his whole attention to such an object lor a length of time, was imme diately sent on to Ncw-York to obtain the practical knowledge requisite for the superintendence of a Lancaslerian School. An additional number of stables, and other necessary preparations, together with se veral year’s experience in his business, justifies him in saying, that hereafter satisfactory accommodations will be acknowledged by all who may honor him with their calls. Intending to keep his Bar constantly supplied with the host liquors, and being anxious and determin ed to furnish gentlemen with all other conveniences with the utmost prompti tude, the subscriber is induced confidently to hope, that the same liberal encourage-, meat which ho has heretofore, received,, he may henceforth long continue to de serve.
