Z FLORENCE, Surg«m Dentist, at
• the sign of the-Golden Eagle, Ham
bur*, S. C. (who has practised twenty
five'years in Charleston) offers h« ser
vices to the ladies and gentleman pf Au
gusta, in every branch of his profession.
He invites those who may be in waul of
Jfia services to call and she his work, ma
nufactured on a new principle, which he
warrants.
Teeth and Gums.
THE diseases of live Teeth and Gums
are chiefly owing to our own neg
lect; the parts off the aliments which
lodge about them after mastication, grow
eg acrid and corrosive, the gums are
hereby first affected, as being the most
tender parts, and after these corrections
are produced, commonly called the I ar
tar ot the Teeth, which, destroying both
their texture and whiteness, not only
x deprive* tae mouth of its principal orna
m jets, but brings on violent tooth aches,
ami renders the Gums livid and putrid,
and offensive to ourselves and others.—
But though people in general may pre
vent those inconveniences, by care and
attention at first, yet, if they are once
suffered to take place, it is no longer in
the power of the sufferer to remove them,
this being .properly the province of the
experienced Dentist, who hath made the
maladies of she Teeth and Gums, with
their attendant evils, the principal object
and end ofhis.sludies. . -
Mr. Florance, Dentist,
By long pr-dice, a close application to
business, and a thorough knowledge ot
the structure of the Teeth an) Gums, has
made all the operations in those parts
quite familiar to him, insomuch that
what some Dentists have judged imprac
ticable, he hath performed with ease and
Hrlfgty* ,
He places Teeth, both real and artifi
cial, (making the latter with pure ena
mel,) from a single one to an entire set,
so accurately, that they shall answer
every purpose of the natural. Thus the
greatest deficiencies are supplied with
Ornaments, which have the recommenda
tion of utility
Those Teelh that have fallen out of
(heir sockets, which frequently happens,
though in a perfect sound state, be, by a
method peculiar to himself, replaces as
firm as ever, without the least pain or
Uneasiness to the uatient.
He clears the Teeth, if ever so disco
loured, of all their foulness and tartar,
without pain, and renders them while
and as fair as ever in half an hour.
Teeth and Stumps extracted in the
easiest manner, if everso difficult,
He assists young .Dailies, -tuid Gentle
men in the first and second dentition, and
wimovea the Milk Teeth at proper sea
sun, lest they should incommode the rc
giiba. growth of the succeeding ones ; and
if a deformity of this kind has taken place,
through the want of a skilful Dentist,
Mr-Florance undertakes to correct it,
provided the subject is not more than
twenty years old, and restore the Teeth
to their natural, regular and beautiful
order.
N. B. A Tincture and Dentifrice Paste,
prepared by him only, which preserves
the Teelh and changes them to a beauti
ful white, gures the Gums of the Scurvy,
and makes the breath at all times sweet
aud agreeable; and euru tho Tooth
Ache immediately, with proper direc
tions bow to use them.

THE “ Little Man?' from Savannah,
the ancient master of the Tower of
w Babel, the Sleep Walker and Ghost in
the Lantern, has risen again in the city
of Augusta, at the corner of Ellis and
Centre streets, and informs the ladies
and gentlemen of this city and its vicinity
that his Confectionary is almost ready.
He would also inform his ancient custom
ers that he is the man that first founded
the establishment of Gaudry a- Dufort,
in Savannah, aud that his goods are quite
fresh and at the same price as they were
in Savannah. He is astonished, that in
•such a fine city as this there is no Ice
House! it is really a pitty, for it would
be v ery accommodating to the public in I
general; his means are not sufficient for
the present, —he has done all he could
do. lie thought that, being so well
known in Georgia, be would have been
encouraged, tnongh lie has found it to
the contrary ; but if some 'gentlemen
Would make a subscription to build the
ise house, they would find of great ad
vantage, a* they could have the ice at
first cost unti) they wore reimbursed of
their subscription, aud after that they
\ynu d have it free fop a whole season, or
otherwise have the interest of their mo
ney.—lt ..ot, ho will deprive'himself of a
•umptuous table; he will eat bread and
pepuer, and try to build the ice. house,
email or large for the use of the Little
Man’s garden. He would take she liber
ty of presenting his best wishes tq the citi
zen* ingeperal aud assures Them that they
will always find him ready to wait on
(hem in the best style.
