SEALED proposals will be received atjhe Olfice of the Cleric of Council, until the first Saturday in January next, for furnishing the Patients of the City Hospital, in conformity to the one hun dred and twenty-first section of the Gen eral Ordinance, for the regulation of the City Hospital. The duties are pointed out by the ordinance Bond, and security will be required in the sum of two thou sand dollars. Applicants will name their securities. The Clerk of Council will furnish the average number of Pa tients in the Hospital for the last year, the offers will, state the price for each patient daily for food and nursing only. D. December 12 # 43 td An Ordinance, To alter and amend the sixty-third Section of the General Ordinances of the City oj Augusta, so for as relates In the ap pointment of Collector and Treasurer for the City. BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council of Augusta, (hat the City Council will, at their first meeting in January, in each and every year, appoint a Collector and Treasurer lor the city of Augusta, who shall hold the office for the next year, from the time his services are required, until his successor is ap pointed and qualified, and annually there after, from the time ol his appointment to Hie lime his successor is appointed and qualified. Re it f urther ordained, That the salary of lh" Collector and Treasurer for the next year, shall be six hundred dollars, and may hereafter be fixed at the pleas ure of Council. December 12. 43 td An Ordinance, Entitled an ordinance , amendatory of the Idth section of the General Ordinance. BE I T ORbAINED, By the City Council of Augusta, that from and after the passing of this Ordinance, no person shall buy, receive from, or barter with any slave or slaves for fodder, corn or other grain, meat or poultry, or for goods, wares and merchandize, or produce of any kind, except such as are expressly allowed by the seventeenth section of the general ordinance, unless such slave or slaves has a written permission from his or her, or their owner or employer, to make such sale or barter, under the pen alty of being fined in a sum not exceed ing one hundred dollars.
