until, the first,Saturday in January next,
for furnishing the Patients of the City
Hospital, in conformity to the one hun
dred and twenty-first section of the Gen
eral Ordinance, for the regulation of the
City Hospital. The duties are pointed
out by the ordinance Bond, and security
will be required in the sum of two thou
sand dollars. Applicants will name
their securities. The Clerk of Council
will furnish the average number of Pa
tients in the Plospital for the last year,
the offers will state the price for each
patient daily for food and nursing only.

An Ordinance,
To alter and amend the sixty-third Section
of the General Ordinances of the City
of Augusta, so far as relates to the ap
poinlment of Collector and Treasurer
for the City.
BE IT ORDAINED, by the City
Council of Augusta, that the City
Council will, at their first meeting in
January, in each and every year, appoint
a Collector and Treasurer for the city of
Augusta, who shall hold the office for
the next year, from the time his services
are required, until his successor is ap
pointed and qualified, and annually there
after, from the time of his appointment to
the ti'.ise his successor is appointed and
qualified.
Be. it further ordained, That the salary
of the Collector and Treasurer for the
next year, shall be six hundred dollars,
and may hereafter be fixed at the pleas
ure of Council.

An Ordinance,
Entitled an ordinance, amendatory of the
18 th section of the General Ordinance.
BE IT ORDAINED, By the City
Council of Augusta, that from and
after the passing of this Ordinance, no
person shall buy, receive from, or barter
with any slave or slaves for fodder, corn er
other grain, meat or poultry, or for goods,
wares and merchandize, or produce of
any kind, except such as are expressly
allowed by the seventeenth section of tte
general ordinance, unless such slave or
slaves lias a written permission from bis
or her, or their owner or employer, to
make such sale or barter, under the pen
alty of being fined in a sum not exceed
ing one hundred dollars. Passed in
Council, July Qlh, 1822.

Washington to Augusta, passes immedi
ately through the tract—these conveni

less. On this tract are a good dwelling
house and out-houses, an excellent peach
