The great facilities afforded by broken

it remarkable that the merchants of Au.
gusta and the planters have long sustain
ed the inconvenience of having none, and
particularly a Colton Broker. In almost
every other cotton matt the business is
principally done by brokeis; and hence
the ease, certainty and dispatch with
which it is executed. The same system
is perfectly practicable here. The mer
chant, by applying at the office of the sub
scriber, may hereafter save himself the
trouble of sampling bis cotton and looking
up a purchaser;—the planter need be no
longer involvetl in doubt and difficulty to
ascertain the true state of the market,
nor subject himself to the caprice of the
wary speculator—and the purchaser will
at ail times know where to resort for cot
ton - the market price.

feet 3 or 4 inches high, he lias one tooth
out before in his under jaw, very straight
hair, & rather a dijected look when inter
rogated, he had on when he left me,a short
white jacket and pantaloons—look with
him a suit of brown broad cloth, fcasmall
pocket pistol, carved round the bundle,
am* on it the letters N. H.—He is by trade

probable he was taken oil' by a couple of

StOIEN from the subscriber, at Ilia
residence in Richmond County on the
night of the 28th February last a likely
well formed SORREL HORSE, with a
white stai in his forehead, 15, or 5 and a
, half hands high, seven or eight years
r old—paces, trots and canters, and draws
, very gentle in a Gig or any kind of har
j ness. Hi has been docked, but no brands
, recollected —a new Saddle and a Gig
t bridle were stolen at the same time. The
saddle had a bath coating lining to the
l Fad, a leather Surcingle confined to the
, small skirts, and plated stirrup Irons.
I Ihe subscriber has good reason to be
lieve from informs!ion which he has oh
! taihed since the said Horse was stolen,
that be was taken by a Negro man ot bis
tall black fellow about 24 or 25 years ol
age, bis right leg bends very much out at
bis knee, and the little finger on his left
i hand is drawn quite down to the palm ot
t bis hand, occasioned by being burnt
when small : bis eyes are inclined to be
i red, bis cheek bones are remarkably high,
and his ears are small and lie close to Ins

said Horse and Negro, so that the sub

the sum of twenty-five dollars will be
paid. ,
There is very little doubt but there is a
white man with him who may claim him
as his own, as there was a Sorrel Mare
s-olcn in the neighborhood on the same
night, bran led with an L on the mount
* ing shoulder and hip.
