Archer's Stauijc. — We call attention to the
advertisement of Mr. W. E. Archer, which
appears in this issue of the Era. His stable
of the finest aud most exteusivo in the
South, and he has in it a superior stock of
saddle aud harness horses, fine now open and
top buggies and carriages. We see him every
day sending out his turn-outs for the enjoy
ment of his many patrons. He is full of busi
ness, and is as busy as any man in town, yet,
amid his rush, ho has a plenty of time for a
pleasant word and an accommodating act to
all who call Captain Tom Archfir is not now
interested in this stable, but has one of his
own in Chattanooga, where, wo understand,
doing a good business.

Provisions—There was only a moderate

firm. Mess Pork was held at $33 50, but tho
inquiry was limited. Balk Meats—Shoulders

l«io, clear rib do ut 104c, and clear Hides at
17jc, all loose, but the demand was light.—
Bacon Shoulders are held at 15io, and few to
he had at this; clear ribs are quoted at 181 to
18j, And clear at 19c, all packed; but there is
hardly any to bo had out of smoke. Sugar-
cared llams are scarce, and 24 to 25c was
asked for the best brands in the market, can
vassed and packed. Lard, prime city Leaf,
was held at 19lo, in tierces; but there wr.s only
small jobbing demand.

has exhibited considerable weakness, and
dealers are operating with caution. During

iterranean $1 00 to $1 05; red $1 10; amber
$1 15; White $1 20.
Owing to the fact of this being election day,
very little was done in tho market
During tho corresponding week of last year
the receipts umounted to 12,485 bushels, pri
ces ranging as follows :

to 1 771; Mediterancan 1 70; Amber 1 80.—
