ATLANTA, March 25.
The past week closed firm in prioee and
steady in demand.
Tbe receipts of Cora have averaged 2600
sacks per day; Flour 300 barrels; Bacon 46
pa kiges; L«rJ 60 kegs.
The W. A A. Railroad have brought an av
erage daily of 140 ears. By far the largast
freight beyond Atlanta, that la received here,
go* a via the M. A W. Railroad. Consequently
our frieodi of tbe Macon Road have had their
hands full. That they have discharged their
duty promptly, tbe racent card of Dr. Lewis
fully testifies.
The Atlanta A West P >int Railroad haa eome
in for a good abare of Western produce, also,
and shiptueots down that line have been r^uite
heavy—principally grain.
Shipment* via the Georgia Road are steady,
though not as large as the other lines, there be
ing less demand lor produoe on their Road.—
However, there ia more than enough to do, on
oo all the lines, and the inquiry among Railroad
tueu is, “when will itatop?’ r
We prediet the last of June will not so* the
msaa of freight la store at Naahville, Memphis
aud other points, entirely cleared away. The
advices from these points are not in the least
satisfactory, and the patience of our merchant*
will be severely tried ere they receive their
goods.
We wish parties East and 8outh of Atlanta,
who are shipping from the West, to remember
one fact: there ia no detention of goods at At
lanta or Chattanooga, and if they do not receive
their shipments, tney must apply to those who
are holding their goods.
Bacon is received in fair supply to day. De
maud steady at 1H@12(gu13.
