Our young crops are everything that could be de sired, and notwithstanding tba eloods of war seen in tha horison, newer before ware we in such a state of unexampled prosperity. Money is in prolusion ; trade ia good ; crops are splen did : Blocks are large; and what more do we need? The threats of the North to devastate our oouotry is treated w«th that contempt that its arrogance marits Was every man waman and child North aod Wast an armed warrior, there would not be enough ; and where is the money Iocom* from? Already tba Federal Govern ment is bankrupt, and its paper is hawked around Wall Street and sola for less than a third-rate merchant's The immense subscrip tions that were paraded before the people as voluntary contributions of millionaires, grow •mail by deg>eee end 'beautifully less, and tba more stirewd capitalists that waited to see whether the South would falter before they in vested their funds, very wisely refuse to take the worthless securities, and well they may, for what guaranis'* tbeir redemption ? The great fountain of wealth which has supported and enriched the Government, has been eut and the millions of tribute have ceased, and Lincoln well may exclaim. “If I acknowledge tka independence of the South, where shall 1 derive the income tosupport ray Government.. 1 Already those wh »have invested tbeir means in these stocks ere trembling for their solven cy. Each European steamer's news but adds to the conviction* that are dawuing oh their minds, that they are sold and that the foreign lowers lean to the side of interest, and conse quently they will iodireclij if not directly work to the aid vantage of the Confederate State*. Boon the reaction will come and honied words will take the place of threats. But the South ern mind is fixed, end no more trade does that section receive from the South.
