IFAfi< the Jlthtlt are Doing—What their Aim le. Wasuikotok, Friday, June 6, 1861. A trip to ib« interior of tha Old Dominion is not anattendad with aope peril. Bat ii«%n be made, aad safely too, aa thia leuar wilL show. Tbe whole country, from Richmond to Manassas Junction, is one 0 vast camp AH the trains into Richmond arrive full of sol diers. A moderat* computation would place there aa large aa 1,500 per day. They are well drilled and well armed ; resolute and de fiant. Inal! the depots from Richmond, troops are to be seen. Tbev are at all the stations, and all tbe cross roads. It Is quite difficult to get su estimate of the men at the Junction. Great secrecy is ob served. An eye sharp and unsparing i» kept on all man who are looking about and era not known ; and any inquiries are attended with personal d&Dger. Tbe leaders keep ibeir own counsel, and the men know very liule of the proposed movements. % Beauregard ia at tbe Junction and lead* tho movements. Moil of the troops work fa the night, and it ia done with silence. But all thinga indicate concentration and ao immedi ate and vigorous attack* The troops are not without tbe elements of religious enthusiasm. Most of tho comman ders are ministers. One company is comman ded by a clergyman, who some months ago was Moderator of the Presbytery bore, and Moated at the communion. He has under hia command 30 men who are members of his church. Nor is this a solitary caso. Meu can be found in their tents reading the Bible, and the voice of prayer and praise goes up frequently from the tents. In one of the cities through which all the troops pass, on their way (o Richmond, a dai ly Union prayer meeting is Leld. It is con ducted not unlike tbe Fulton street daily meet ing. The convetsion of soula is the theme of pruycr. Men pray to be guided In the right way, if they are wrong in tbe present conust. Requests are made for prayer—and the con version of the impenitent announced. Tbe Old School Presbyterian Church could as well have taken open and decided Union ground as the time policy adopted. The Soul h will meet with tbe body no more. So the men say. The Church 3outh will fo low the State, and the men South of Mason’s line regard the thing as done. All things indicate an immediate movement. Delay will ruin the South. They will not wait to be attached, but will hasten on the conflict. ’J hey believo it will be short, but. decisive. Our Government must be prepared for a sudden rfnd terrible blow. It will come as the whirlwind. It will beat as the tem pest. Bui our troops are ready. Special Dispatch to the Charleston Courier. Important from Richmond. Richmond, June 13.—The latest reports from Bethel indicate the affair to be a complete vic tory and route of the Lincolnites After the battle a flag of truoe was sent to Col. Magru- der, for tbe purpose of burying the dead and exchanging prisoners. Col. Msgruder said they might do the first, but declined the last proposition. The officer bearing tbe flag of truoe said their loss in killed and wounded was 280. It is believed that over 500 were absent from roll call the next morning. Two of their officers, besides one General, are supposed to hart been killed. Thirteen prisoners were taken, and havo been brought to Richmond. T HIS celebrated Watering Place will beopon^ ed on the 26th of 6Iay, and every comfort provided within our reach, for the accommo dation and p'easure of visitor*. We have spar ed no pains or expense in putting the estab lishment and grounds in good order, and hope to merit an increase of tha liberal patronage heretofore bestowed.
