T HE undersigned, Commissioners of the Con federate States Loan, in and for tbe State of Georgia, announce to the public that tbe books for the subscription to this Loan are opened at tbe following points, namely: Sa vannah, Augusta, Macon, Columbus, Milledge ville, Rome. Atlanta, Athens, Washington and Albany We will send books, Ac., to other points, if requested to do so, aod it be deemed expediont by us. Five millionsonly of the fifteen million Loan have been called for,aod eleven millions have been responded to—no subscription being at a less rate than par. and some as high as ten per ceut. premium. The present exigencies of our national crisis call for the balance of this Loan, aud we have no doubt our fellow-citisens will cheerfully respond to that call. Let it be re membered that, in what they thus advance, they are making an investment at 8 per ceut. per annum, (which investment is secured by a special sinking fund ) and that subscriptions may be made in any sum from fifty dollars up wards. We are authorised to say that these subscrip tions will be received in this State in current bank notes which are considered at par at the several centres of trade. An abounding patriotism baa carried, and is carryiug. our brave brothers and sons in su cient numbers to tbe field; we doubt not that the same ferrid feeling will mipport them there, by rapidly filling the remainder of this Loan. Fortress Monros, Jue21.—Rumors are cur rant of r very heavy Southern advance on Torktown. Tbo Federal pickets near Little Bethel have been driven in. Persons representing themselves as desert ers from Sewell's Point gave such vage infor mation that Battler has jailed them. The Southerners are erecting masked batter ios opposite tbo Kip Raps. No correct returns of the killed in the fight at Great Bethel have or will be made. Surgeons were ordered over the Potomac last nigdt. The War Department has disoovered that female Secessionists have baen carrying regular correepondence with Gen. Beauregard Mount Vernon- Washington, June 21.—Win. Porter Mills, of Louisiana, has been appointed Cousul to Trip oli. A battle between McDowell’s division and the Southerners at Vienna it deemed inevita ble to morrow. It is now evident that the main blow of tbe Federalists will be struck from Washington with forty fin thousand men. Great surprise is manifested in some quarters that Gen. Scott does not prevent the erection of batteries at various points on the right bank of the Potomac. Tbe New York Tribune thinks it probable that all the roads between tbe advance posts of the Southerners and thence to the Federal lines are covered with masked batteries. The Times of tbe same city says tbe battery t Sewell's Point is composed of five Columbi- ads, six smaller pieces, three rifled cannon ; nd that the place is garrisoned by five hun dred men. It estimates the Confederate force at Norfolk at fifteen thousand. Army officers here say that acollision before to morrow night is certain, the impressioa be ing that the Southerners are out flanked, and must fight. The Southerners are concentrating at Fair fax Court House, aud everything indicates an attack on the Federal lines. Gen. Beauregard can concentrate60 000 men at any given point itbin a week. He has undoubtedly a large force at Vienna. Tbe latest advices disclose do new movements. Richmond, June 22.—Col. Howell Cobb’s ten der of a Regiment being accepted, he returns amediately to Georgia fully to organize it. The President of the Memphis A Charleston Railroad has taken $40,000 Confederate Bonds id $17,000 Treasury Notes at par. Louisville, June21.—Gen.
