Mr Dkak Husband : All are well at home, and I am glad to tell you so. Sometimes 1 want you at homo, but when I think of the cause of your abasnoe, I am perfectly resigned. I am of the opinion that the war will not last longer than six months, from the lights before ms; but should lbs twelve months for which you are enlisted expire, and the war still continue, 1 shall not expect to see you at home. I have resigned my claim on you to your God and your oouniry. Think not of ease and pleasure, until the enemy of your homo in the Sunny South is mads to submit, sod Abe Lincoln is forced to give us [all we ask) our rights. When this day dawns, then return, and re ceive from your wife the smiles and leader cares to which you and all other brave sol diers are entitled. Be a brave soldier Nobly face the enemy. Harris.—In the Fort Smith (Ark.) Times and Herald ws find the subjoined proclamation by Gov. Harris, of the Chickasaw nation : Whereat, The legislature of the Chickasaw nation has on the 26ih day of Msy, 1861, adopted % resolution declaring that in conse quence of the secession of a large portion of the States fomerly composing the United Stales of America, the Federal Union baa been dis solved, and by reason of such fact, and the failure of the Government at Washington, pro fessing to sot in the name of the United States, to afford the protection and pay over the mon eys to whioh the Chickasaw nation was enti tled under the treaties with the United States, that the Chickasaw people are absolved from all allegiance to any foreign Government, and are left independent which it ia proper should be made known to the people of this nation and to the world ; Therefore, I, Cyrus Harris, Governor of the Chickasaw nation, do hereby publish and pro claim that the Chickasaw nation is of right and ought to be free and independent; and further, in obedienee to the ioeiructioDa of the Chickasaw legislature, oonlaioed in said res olutions, do hereby oall upoo all Chickasaw warriors over 18 and under 45 yeara of age, to form themselves into volunteer companies, oonsisting of at least fifty men, exclusive of theoaptain, first, second and third lieutenants end first, second, third, fourth and fifth ser geants, a bugler, making in the aggregate six ty men to eaoh company. The commissioned officers to be elected by the companies, and the non-commissioned of ficers to be appointed by thn captains, and to report to me a complete roll of the same as they are formed ; said companies to hold themselves in perfect readiness, armed and equipped as mounted riflemen, to turn out for the defense of the country—the enforce ment of the laws and the maintenanos of (he rights of the nation—at a minute’s warning. When called into service, the companies will be organised into battalions or regiments, no- cording to tbs number, with the privilege of electing their field officers, the whole to net under the orders of the commanding genoral of the Chickasaw nation. Native Cbickssaws, over 45 years of age, are advised (o form themselves into home guards.
