INV ASION !
TO THE WAR!
A “GEORGIA LEGION”
I S BEING ORGANIZED. It is to consist of
four companies of Cavalry, of eighty men
each; of four companies ol Light Infantry, to
act with the Cavalry, as Voltigeurs; of two
Companies of Heavy Infantry, and one of Ar
tillery.
The FULTON DRAGOONS have tendered
to form part of this Lotion.
Thia Legion ii expected to go into Ser-
vioe before the 15th of Angnit,
but the e >ropanies to be selected IN A WEEK;
and to ho thoroughly drilled before going into
service. The Fulton Dragoons want about
fifty able-bodied men, who oan furnish good
horses, and a cheap uniform. Gov. Brown
will arm os—the Legion ia to be tendered
through him.
Here is offered a fine opportunity of going
into service, in a Regiment of novel organise
tion, of picked companies. A distinguished
member of the Confederate Congree*. from
Georgia, who gate up this Legion, will doubt-
lose he appointed Colonel; the other field offi
cers—Lieutenant Colonel, Major and Adjutant
are to be appointed by the President, from ex-
perieneed Army officers.
We appeal to the patriotism of our eitiaeos,
not only of Fulton, nut of othsr counties, who
feel disposed to join the Fulton Dragoons, to
send in their names at onoa to ns, or to regis
ter their names at tha store of Lieut. Williams.
Wa have hut eoa weak to raise our number, to
gal in this Legion. AH who want to go, in
form us atoace. Will our friends who can’t
go encourac# this raovemsot?
