Agreeable to previous notice, the Ladies of West Point and vioinity, met atLyeeum Hall, 4 o’clock, P. M., July 3rd. On motion, Mrs. Amos Huguley was called to the chair as temporary President, and Miss Sal lie Fannie Reid was requested to act as Sec retary. The following resolutions were then unanimously sdopted: Resolved l. That the Ladies of West Point and vicinity, will proceed to form themselves into an Association, to be known as the Ladies Relief Society, for the purpose of furnishing when necessary, and oi cutting and making clothes for the members of the Wesr Point Guards, and of other companies that may go to the war from our vicinity—believing that it is woman's highest privilege, as well asjsolemn duty, to minister as fares in her power, to the wants and oomfert of the brave men who have sacrificed all, and risked their lives for her de fence. Resolved 2. That the more effectually to car ry out these objects, we will prooeed to elect the following permanent officers, to-wit: a Pres ident, ••▼an Vice Presidents, a Treasurer, a Secretary and two assistant Secretaries. Resolded 3. That the President appeint the following committees: On Finance, on Selecting Material, on Cutting and Inspecting Work, and on Transportation. The number in each to be approved of by the Society. Rtsolved 4. That the Society shall meetevery Tuesday morning, at • o’clock. Resolved 5. When permanently organised, the Secretary shall by correspondence with Copt. Todd, of the West Point Guards, and with officers of other companies going from our midst, ascertain the kind, amount and site of garments used, and report same to the next meeting. Resolved 6. That the Treasurer and Secreta ry procure blank books, suitable for record of their respective offices; and that a careful ao- count of all expenditures, and a p/ain record of all proceedings shall be kept, and be open for inspection of the members of this Society.
