papa re, and being elruok with in tone and
perfeot applicability to the oiroumelnaeee and
Mlrriag erente of tho preeeot period, I hare
thought that ita peroeel would be agreeable
and inatruetire to pour hoeta of r«adore. The
aaalogits are eo atrlklng and palpable, that
the mind of no intelligent man eaa fail to be
lmpreaeed with their almoet perfeot applica
bility to the preeeot tlatut of publie affaire,
and the caueee that hare impelled the people
of the Confederate Stalea into Ihie revolution
for the vindication of their righte and the os-
aertion and eetabliehment of their indepen
dence and freedom upon a firm aod enduring
foundation.
If the foregoing should be favorably receiv
ed by your patrons, Messrs. Editors, you may
ezpeot from me other matter from the earns
ancient source whence this is taken. In our
present struggles with those who would de
prive us of the inestimable boon of our liber
ties and the right of self-government, we can
not too often or too studiously recur to the
history of the past aad the wholesome and
sage lessons it inspires and teaobes. The ed
ifice our forefathers planned and erected for
our protection and preservation, has been
ruthfully demolished by the unwashed hands
of Northern fanatics and vandals; but may
we not hope that we of the South are com
missioned by Providence to colleol the shat
tered parts and reconstruct it into a more
beautiful and enduring palladium of civil and
religious liberty ?

of the same for the firm, who will endeavor, at
all times, to provide for the table, bar, Ac., ev

to require an extensive description. In addi
tion to the Red, White and Black Sulphur
Springs—many of them combined with Iron
and Magnesia—is an inexbaustable well of the
purest Freestone.
Oar accommedations are very extensive.—
We have many pleasant oottages separate from
the main hotel, where families oan be as quiet
and retired as in their own homes.
Catoosa Springs are in Catoosa county, Geor-
J 'n, two ana a quarter miles from the Western
Atlantie Railroad. A fine Omnibus and good
Hooks will be at the platform on tbe arrival
of each train. The Springs have a direct Rail
