Resolecd by the Senate and House of Represen
tatives of the State of Georgia, in General Assem
bly met, That the sum of five thousand dollars
be, and the same is hereby appropriated, to be
paid to any persou or persons who shall arrest
and bring to trial and prosecute tb conviction, un
der the Inws of this state, the editor or publisher
of a certain paper culled tin* Liberator, ptiblisltgd
in the town of Ronton and state of Massachusetts;
who shall arrest, bring to trial anil prosecute
to conviction, under the laws of this slate, anv
other person or persons who shall utter, publish
or circulate within tho limits of this state, said
paper called the Liberator, or any other paper,
circular* pamphlet, letter or uddicss of a sedi
tious character.
And that Ills Excellency tho Governor, is
hereby authorised and requested, to issue his War-
rent upon tho Treasurer for said sum of five thou
sand dollars, in favbr of Any pet son or pejrsons
who slinll have arreded and brought to trial, and
prosecuted to conviction, under the laws of this
state, the editor or publisher of the Liberator, or
who8hall have arrested and brought to trial, und
prosecuted to.conviclion, under the law’s of this
state, any other person or persons, who shall ut
ter publish, or circulate within the limits of this
stale, said paper called the Liberator, oi uny o-
ther paper, circular, pamphlet, letlci or add res j of
a seditious chornctor.
And that these resolutions ho inserted in the
appropriation net.
And resulted further, That II is Excellency the
Governor causo the foregoing resolutions to be
published in ihc public journals of this state, nnd
such other papers ns be may think proper, nnd
pay for the publication thereof, our of tho contiu
gent fund.
