The disease, by which we have recently' been afflicted, has, under various names visited many of the towns and vi - age lying in the region south of latitude 33, and may therefore, with great reason, t e attributed to a general epidemic constitution of the atmosphere in that region, modified by the existence ol various local causes, and the introduction of foreign cases of fever. The branch of the Academy at Surnmervi'ie is under the immediate management of Mr. Frank- i lin GE' rge, a gentleman of experience in teach ing, and highly recommended. The advantage of the location of this branch of the Academy in one of the most healthful neighborhoods in the Slate, and sufficiency remote from the unfavorable in fluence of a crowded town, are too well Known to , need comment.
