RHEUMATISM. •
COHEN’S RHEUMATIC EMBROCATION.—
fiivM, B. Cohen T proprictor of the universally
celebrated lotion for the cure of Chronic and Infla
matory Rheumatism. Sprains, Lumbago, - Pains and
Swellings in the Joints, stc., known as Cohen’s
( Rheumatic Embrocation, begs, respectfully to refer
all persons suffering from these diseases to the
i thousands of cures that his.preparation has aeebrn
f plished; and to the numerous strange and highly
I respeatable testimonials which have, from time tV
! time, been published to that effect in New York
and otfler places. So certain and searching is this
Liniment in its operations, even in cases of long
standing, and of an obstinate nature, that it has
.never been known to fail. The following letters
rare selected from hundreds of others of a like de
scription. It will be proper that all persons using
Y the Liniment, see that it is accompanied with the
signature of the proprietor in his own hand writing.
Since the introduction of this remedy to the public,
various-empirics have been palmed upon the coun
try, Nostrums and Lotions, and ; Liniments, and
‘‘lnfallible Rheumatic Mixtures,” all of which be
ing a compound of ignorant quacks, are calculated;
j more- or less, to injure the system rather than re
r. move-any complaint- In proof of the estimation
• in which the Embrocation is held by respectable
' ’ men ia the medical profession, as well as by the
thousands- of persons who have been elfectua ly
cured of Rheumatism, thesubscriber has subjoined
j letters from a few who are well and popularly
known ts- the entire society in New York, and
r whose opinions and professional judgments are
.universally esteemed, 1

New York, Aug. 3 : , 1838.
Dear Sir—ffkving frequently witnessed the ap

beneficial effects arising therefrom, it affords me
pleasure to state that ! most cheerfully recommend
! it as an invaluable remedy, and the best known for

To Dr. M, B. Cohen.
Dr. M. B. Cohen—ln reply to your request as to
my opinion of your Rheu catic Embrocation, I
j most willingly acknowledge that I have used it in
my practice, and found it an invaluable remedy as
I a palliative Liniment in cases of Rheumatism
CHAS. A. VAN ZANDT. M. D.

| I certify that I have used Dr. M. B. Cohen’s
I Rheumatic Embrocation, and have found it a most
useful adguvant in the treatment of this painful
disease, and therefore hesitate not to recommend it
I in all cases of Rheumatism.
WILLIAM ANDERSON, M. D.,&c.,
No. 342 Broadway, N. Y.
I, Henry B. Nones, Ist Lieut, of the Revenue
Cutter Alert, in the service of the United States,
do certify that I was for five months affiicted with
the Inflamatory Rheumatism, and had every reme
dy by advice of physicians, without any relief, and
finally by advice of Dr. W. Rockwell, health offi
cer at quarantine, I applied to Dr. M. B. Cohen, in
the month of July, 183, for a bottle of his Rheu
matic Embrocation, and after one week’s use of
r the specific, was entirely free from all pain,, and
; was able to resume my place in the service.

principal Academy in Augusta, and the branch at
Summerville, have resumed their exercises;, under
the management - , of Teachers who. have the full
confidence of the Trustees, and who, they are sa

Mr. Ernenputsch, the Hector of the -Academy,
already favorably known to the community, has
charge of the Classical department and ai; the
branches-of education requisite for admissim to
our best Colleges, His attainments as - a scholar
and success in imparting useful knowledge, emi

Mr. Rikg, the principal English Teacher, re
cently engaged by the Board, cbmes with the high- •
est recommendations as to character, talents, lite
rary attainments and skill in teaching, and the'
j Trustees feel assured that he will sustain the re
putation which led to.his selection.
The.branch oLthfe Academy at Summerville is
under the immediate management of Mr. Frank
lin George, a gentleman of experience in teach
ing, and highly recommended. The advantage of
the location of Jhis branch of the Academy in one
of the most healthful neighborhoods in the State,
and sufficiently remote from the unfavorable in
fluence of a crowded town, are too well known to j
need comment.
On the whole, the Board confidently recommend
to the public the principal Academy and the Branch
at Summerville, as being on a bidder footing than
they have heretofore been, great
usefulness to those who may avail themselves of
the advantages which they offer.
