Ca, March Sd. 1838:
Lr. Peters —Dear Sir, —By requestor your agent,
Mr. Harrison. 1 send you a few lines respecting the
almost miraculous effects of y our pil’s; and 1 w ould
a d. that you may make use ol them, in connection
with mv name, in any manner you deem proper, 1
speak of their merits from experience,as 1 and my
family have taken upwards ot thirty boxes in three
vents ; and so great a?© the benents we hareicceiv

chase them at ten dollars abox than have my house
w ithout them. 1 will not enumerate lire afflictions
they have relieved us of; but I can assure you they
were many, and of very opposite natures, which
has fu ly. proved to me that your medicine is a sim
ple purincr of the system, and therefoie equally
the enemy of every 1 wi 1 mention one
case. I have a sister who had been for a long pc
riod severely afflicted with dropsy in the chest and
was brought by it to the very verge of the grate.
She was attended by the most eminent jihysicians
that money could procure.; but all their dibits to
restore her to hea th, or even to mitigate her suffer
ing- were fruitless; and accordingly.we all consid
ered her immediate death as inevitable, i y good
fortune, however, as she was in Ibis situation, ex
pet t ngevery day to be her last, your p:;’a wore
introduced into my family, ami so speedy and pal
pable were their effects that three doses visi.-ly ic-
Uevcd her, and in less than three months she was
perfectly restored to health. This case, I and all
who were witness of it, (but more especially the
suffering party,) considered to be the next thing to
mi culo; s; and yet J could mention n an;, more
of an equally desperate nature, in which yon; pills
were equa ly successful in rescuing the patients
