Swellings in the Joints, Ac., known as Cohen’s |
Rheumatic Embrocation, begs respectfully to reier
ail persons suffering from these disea-es to the
thousands of cures that his preparation has accom- ,
pushed, and to the numerous strange and highly ’
respectable testimooia's which have, from time to
time, teen published to that effect in New York
and other places. So certain and searching is this i
Liniment in its operations, even in cases of long I
standing, and of an obstinate nature, that it has :
never teen known to fail. The foliowingletters j
are selected from hundreds of others of a Like de- j
senption. It wid be proper that all persons using .
he Liniment, see that it is accompanied with the 1
signaiTire of the proprietor in his own hand wnt.ng.
Since the introduction of this remedy to the public,
various empirics have been palmed upon the coun
try, Nostrums and Lotions, and Liniments, and
“infallible Rheumatic Mixtures.” all of which be
ing a compound of ignorant quacks, are calculated,
more or less, to injure the system rather than re- :
move any complaint. In proof of the estimation
in whkh the Embrocation is held by respectable
men in the medical profession, as well as by the
thousands of persons who have been effectua ly
cured of Rheumatism, the subscriber has subjoined
letters from a few who are well and popularly
known to the entire society in New York, and
whose opinions and professional judgments are
universally esteemed.

This pnre obtains its own name from the certain
; success which has attended it through all of its
, trying circumstances, namely, “five days,"—tee
same success which followed it in a Northern lati

; or recipe was obtained at great expense, intrigue

Indian Chief Waievothz. or Great Moon, whilst
he, with others was lucrative Fur bu

Wabenosbe prized highly and use it with invariable
succe s s throughout his two tribes. Its known and
j valued virtues have already enriched to an a most
incredible extent the children of this warlike prince,
not only by actual sale of the article itself to in
dividuals, but by parting with copies of his receipt
at enormous prices to the Chief of every tribe of
Indians in America, with a solemn promise to the
i Great Spirit, never to divulge the “art of its com
position until he sleeps with his fathers,” although
free to use it in their respective tribes, which
places it in the hands of every Indian who rely

Dr. Peters —Dear Sir, —By request of your agent,
Mr. Harrison. I send you a few lines respecting the
almost miraculous effects of your pil's; and I would
a-.d, that you may make use ol them, in connection
with my name, in any manner you deem proper, I
speak of their merits from experience.as 1 and my
family have taken upwards of thirty boxes in three
years ; and so great are the benefits we have receiv
ed from them in general, that I would rather pur
chase them at ten dollars abox than have my house
without them. I will not enumerate Lhe afflictions
they have relieved us of; but I can assure you they
were many, and of very opposite natures, which
has fully proved to me that your medicine is a sim
ple purifier of the system, and therefore equally
the enemy of every disease. I will mention one
case. I have a sister who had been for a long pe
riod severely afflicted with dropsy in the chest and
was brought by it to the very verge of the grave.
She was attended by the most eminent physicians
that money could procure; but all their efforts to
restore her to health, or even to mitigate her suffer
ings were fruitless ; and accordingly,we all consid
ered her immediate death as inevitable. By good
fortune, however, as she was in this situation, ex
pect ng every day to be her last, your pills were
introduced into my family, and so speedy and pal
pable were their effects that three doses visibly re
lieved her, and in less than three months she was
perfectly restored to health. This case, I and ail
who were witness of it, 'but more especially the
suffering party.) considered to be the next thing to
miraculous; and yet I could mention many more
of an equally desperate nature, in which your pills
were equally successful in rescuing the patients
from the jaws of death. Need I add that the popu
larity of your medicine amounts tc enthusiasm in
this section of the country : But this I presume
you know from the immense quantity you dispose
of. I may mention, however, that notwithstanding
its genera: use, I never heard an individual complain
of its effects. My residence is 12 miles from Ral
eigh, on the road to Fayetteville. I am, with sen
timents of regard, vour ob’t servant.
A. G. BANKS.
To Dr. Peters, —Sir—For upward? of fifteen
months, I have been cruelly afflicted with Fever
and Ague ; and during the time could find nothing—
though I had applied to every thing that gave me
any thing like permanent relief. At length, how
ever, your pills were recommended to me”, by one
of our best physicians, and I am most grateful and
happy in being able to add. that I had scarcely used
two boxes when I found that they had restored me
to perfect health. Since then, various members of
my family have used them with equal success—
and consequently I feel it my duty to apprise you
of the fact, and to request of you to publish this
certificate, as 1 am anxious to add my public testi
mony to the almost miracuious virtues of your un
rivalled medicine. Respectfully vours,
THEODOR E JAMES.
