Gallighan’s Pills, though useful for all diseases
hich originate in a superabundant collection of
bile in the stomach, are more particularly intended
for Fever and Ague. In the hist jilhee they cleanse,
strengthen and give tone to the su mach and bow
els, and create a new and heal*.h*fjaction through
out the system. They produce i\ natural and per
manent appetite; they defend tile system against
new or subsequent attacks of fd'-c disease; they
assist the various operations of nature by cleaning
t ie system of all vitiated.corruptin'! acrid humors,
and thus in vigorate and reanimatr, chew hole fiame.
I'ossessing a purgative quality, they cannot remain
in tlie bowels to pioduce suc'n?other diseases as
often follow the injudicious treatment of the fever
and ague. They are composed ejnitirely cf vegeta
ble matter, and may be taken !;y persons of both
sexes and of al! ages, without t|ii; least danger of
■nnpleasant consequences. In fine, the public are
assured that Gallighan’s Pills poss ; ,et»s those inesti
mable virtues, which are requisite not only to ar
rest, but to eradicate and destroy the la't seeds of
this most d.stressmg malady of the human family.
The proprietors solemnly pledge, themselves that
they do not contain a particle minerals in any
shape or form, but are composed!entirely of simple
vegetable substances , which either separately or
combined, and withou i regard jo sex or age, are
perfectly harmless in their elfecli lipon the human

ANTI-BALSAMIC GONORRHOEAL SOLUTION,
Warranted to cure in Five Days.
' I'HIS incomparable and invaluable remedy so
■ long known, and used with such unpanalleied
success in the Canadas for the last 30 yeais, ap
pears to need no panegyric. Its operation upon the
human system is such that it invariably acts like
a charm, for the relief and radical cure of a c ertain
common and disagreeable “ills the flesh is heir to ”
This prize obtains its own name from the certain
i success which has attended it through ali of its
trying circumstances, namely, “five days,” —the
1 same success which followed it in a Northern lati
tude still obtains in a more Southern. The formula
; or recipe was obtained at great expense, intrigue
’ and hazard by M Cheveres, from the celebrated
; Indian Chief Wabenotiie, or Great Moon, whilst
’ he, with olliers was pursuing the lucrative Fur bu
, siness in the North-west with the Indians. —
Wabenoshe prized highly and use it with invariable
1 success throughout his two tribes. Its known and
valued virtues have already enriched to an almost
' incredible extent the children of this wari ike prince,
not only r by actual sale of the article itself to in
dividuals, but by parting with copies of his receipt
| at enormous prices to the Chief of every tribe of
Indians in America, with a solemn promise to the
• Great Spirit, never to divulge the “art of its com
, position until he sleeps with his fathers,” although
free to use it in their respective tribes, which
places it in the hands of every Indian who rely
with, I may say, religious confidence oa its cura
ble powers.
Below is a copy of the translation as near a? it can
be anglisized of the deed given by Wabenoshe, to
M. Cheveret. when he purchased the original recipe,
and had twice assisted the Chief himself through
the tedious manipulatory process of manufacture.
Few white men would credit the length of time
which is consumed in preparing the article for im
mediate use..

is to subdue every vestige of inflamation, and then
acts mildly and copiously as a diuretic; thereby
holding within itself, every requisite virtue, for
the subduction of this loathsome malady —and ev
ery’ regular graduate in medicine, will sustain the
assertion, that copious diuresis and reduction of in
flation, are the only two things necessary to effect
a'sound and radical cure
The most peculiar virtue of the “Cinq Jours,”
is in this, that wherever it alone has been used to
affect a cure, none of those tenacious and disagree
able consequences which almost invariably results
from the sudden cure of Gonorrhoea, have been
known to obtain such as stricture, hernia, humoi

most loathsome, perplexing, and disagreeable dis

Those affected are requested to call and try for
themselves, if the prescriptions are well follow

returned.

The extraordinary reputation that Dr. Spohn’s

That so m ich suffering should have existed for ages

invented as will convince the most credulo'ia. The
principles on which it acts are simple and plain. It is
an a milted fact that this complaint, whether called

the Nervous Headache may rest assurer] that this
organ, the stomach, is the first cause, that th r> sys

break and heal a bile in five cays, will allay and
perfectly cure an ulcer in nvo weeks, and the most
desperate cases of w hite swelling that can be ima
gined, have been destroyed by it in less than two
months. In the biles of poisonous reptiles its effi
cacy is truly surprising, and if applied in time, its
powers of attraction are so wonderful that th.- y will
at once arrest the poison and thus prevent it from
perva ung the system. It is likewise greatly supe
rior to any medicine heretofore discovered for the
chafed back and limbs of horses —for tetters, ring
worms, chapped lips—and in short, for every extei
nal bodily evil that may fall to the lot of man or
beast.

Sir, —1 have no hesitation in stating, m reply to
your note, that your “ Specific Ointment” is truly
equal to the majority ol the ends for which you re
commend it. 1 qualify my certificate by the word
majority, as it is ray maxim to give no opinion in
medical matters where 1 have had no experience.
In sprains, bruises, inflammations, eruptions, whit

JHESK Pills are no longer among those of doubt
ful utility. They have passed away from the
hundreds that are daily launched upon the tide of
experiment, and now stand before the public as
high in reputation, and a* extensively employed in
alfpartsof the United States, the Canadas, Texas
Mexico, and the West Indies, as any medicine that
has ever been prepared for the relief of suffering
man. They have been introduced wherever it was
found possible to carry them ; and there are but
few towns that do not contain some remarkable
evidences of their good elfects. The certificates
that have been presented to the propiietor exceed
twenty thousand! upwards of five hundred of
which are from regular practising physicians, who
are the most competent judges of their merits.
Often have tiie cures performed by this medicin
been the subject of editorial comment, in variou
newspapers and journals; and it may with truth be
asserted, that no medicine of the kini has ever re
ceived testimonials of greater value thin are at
tached to this.
Tiiey are in general use as a family medicine
and there are, thousands of families who declare they
re never satisfied until they have a supply always
on hand.
They have no rival in curing and preventing
Bil'.ious Fevers, Fever and Ague, Dyspepsia, Liver
Complaints, Sick Headache, Jaundice, Asthma,
Dropsy', Rheumatism, Enlargement of the Spleen,
Piles, Cholic, Female Obstructions, Heartburn,
Furred Tongue, Nausea, Distension of the Stomach
and Bowels, incipient Diarrhoea,Flatulence,HauiJu
al Costiveness, Loss of Appetite, Blotched or Sallow
Complexion, and in cases of torpor of the bowels,
where a cathartic or aperient is needed They are
exceedingly mild in their operation, producing
neither nausea, griping nor debility.
The following was forwarded to Dr. Peters, by a
highly respectable Planter of Wake County, No
Ca.,March 3d, IS3S:
Dr. Peters —Dear Sir, By request of your agent,
Mr. Harrison, I send you a tew lines respecting the
almost miraculous elfects of yourpiPs; and I would
add, that you may make use ol them, in connection
with my name, in any manner you deem proper, I
speak of their merits from experience, as 1 and my
; family have taken upwards of thirty boxes in three
years ; and so great a*e the benefits we have receiv
ed from them in general, that I would rather pur
chase them at ten dollars a box than have my house
without them. 1 will not enumerate ihe alllictions
they have relieved us of; but I can assure you they
were many, and of very opposite natures, which
lias fully proved to me that your medicine is a sim
ple purifier of the system, and therefore equally
the enemy of every disease. I will mention one
case. I have a sister who had been for a long pe
riod severely afflicted with dropsy in the chest and
was brought by it to the very verge of the grave.
She was attended by the most eminent physicians
that money could procure; but all their etforls to
restore her to health, or even to mitigate her suffer
ings were fruitless ; and accordingly, we all consid
ered her immediate death as inevitable. By good
fortune, however, as she was in this situation, ex
pect. ng every day to be her last, your pills were
introduced into my family, and so speedy and pal
pable were their effects that three doses visibly re
lieved her, and in less than three months she was
perfectly restored to health. 'This case, 1 and all
who were witness of it, (but more especially the
suffering party,) considered to be the next thing to
miraculous; and yet I could mention many more
of an equally desperate nature, in which your pills
i were equally successful in rescuing the patients
from the jaws of death. Need 1 add that the popu
larity of your medicine amounts to enthusiasm in
this section of the country ? But this I presume
i you know from the immense quantity' you dispose
jof I may r mention, however, that notwithstanding
: its general use, I never heard an individual complain
j of its effects. My residence is 12 miles from Bal
j eigh, on the road to Fay'etteville. 1 am, with sen
-1 tunents of regard, your ob’t servant.
A. G. BANKS.
To Dr. Peters, —Sir —For upward- of fifteen
months, 1 have been cruelly afflicted with Fever
and Ague; and during the time could hnd nothing—
though 1 had applied to every thing that gave me i
any thing like permanent relief. At length, how
ever, your pills were recommended to me, by one j
of our best pin sicians, and lam most grateful and j
happy in being able to add, that 1 had scarcely used i
two boxes when 1 found that they had restored me
to perfect health. Since then, various members of
my family have used them with equal success—
and consequently' 1 feel it my duty to apprise you
J of the fact, and to request of you to publish this
I certificate, as I am anxious to add my public testi
i mony to the almost miraculous virtues of your un
; availed medicine. Respectfully yours,
THEODORE JAMES.
