Sugar — Louisiana —<ince our la-1 report, sup
plies have come in pretty freeiv, bu the continu
ance of a very good demand has presented a further
accumulation of stock on the Levee, which is now
quite moderate Considerable sacs have been
made for shipment to the Northern and Western
maikets, besides a f.• ir enquiry froir.jthe city gro
cers. Most of the transactions hav£i been at 3a 1
rents, and the*? prices are obta oed for such
qualities as fully sustain the iinpro : ment previ
ou-l> noticed. \\ e continue to quoti the extremes
at 2J a4 4 cent', though there aie ery few sales
at the highest figures, in consequent of the great
scarcity of the better qua itics. i
M lassss Light receipts and a goo; demand have
caused the stock on the Levee to* become very
much reduced, and holdeis o* good j reels in bar*

at which prices there were sales. Vie are not ad

Fiour — There has not been much activity in the
market since our report of Saturday last, though
a tolerably fair business has been dc*e tnr export,
in addition to the ordinary demand foiS’cmsumption
We still quote superiine at $3 S7,* a|l 94. though
we are aware of but oie sile be To wit,3 90, and In
that ni'tance the condition of the bTreks was ob

Exchange— Sterling Exchange has lot been very
active since our last report, the suppi and the de’-

me the '.tme as last quoted—say 12 4 12A percent

Hi Is on New York at 60 days sight Sc in fair de

other descriptions of Northern Exchange there is
but little doing. i
Freights —Within the la*t few d:|s there have
been numerous arriva s from *ca, whifh have given
the market a better supply of ves-eil Uian it has

HERMITAGE EXTRACT—This lately in

acquired a just popularity, not only by reason of
the strength and delicacy, but of tlie exlraoidina

they are derived, t e Hermitage retains its fra

PEDIGREE.
J. R. H. Acklin, Esq. of Huntsville, Alabama,
certifies as follows :— ‘ Tom Tunstail was foaled
mine on the 29th May, 1831. His dam was High
land .Mary and her dam a full-blooded Archie marc;
tne sire of Highland Mary was old PacoleC Tom
Tunstall was sired by o.d Pacific, and he by old
Sir Archie. This is as far as lam able to go, tho’
I am satisfied Tom Tunstall has descended fiom as
good a stock as any horse in the United States.—
He was a race horse of the first order, but I tear
will never be able to make a first rate race again,
owing to his leg; it was injured when a three year
old, in training, as I believe. By addressing Har
py Cryee, Gallatin, Tennessee, you can get a full
pedigree of the darn of Tom l unstall.” Thesamo
Mr. Hardy Cryer certifies thus :—“ Highland Mary
combined as many or more rich crosses of thorougn
breds than any maie ever raised in Tennessee.
She was got by the noted hope Pacolet, the son of
imported Citizen -, her dam Rosey Carey by Sir
Archie ; grand-dam Sally Jones hy the imported
horse Traveller, called Big Ben or Charlemaine,
(son of O’Kelle; ’s Eclipse, and one of the purest
importations of the last century;) greatgrand*dam
by the imported horse Wrangier; great-great-grand
dam O’Possum by imported Shark; great-great
great-grand-darn by the celebrated American quar
ter race horse, Goode’s old Twigg; great-great
great-gveat-giand-dam by imported Fearnaught;
great-great-great-great-great-grand -dam by Lee’s
old Mark Anthony outof a mare by imported Mon
key.” On the sire’s side it is deemed unnecessary
to trace beyond Sir Archie. It is presumed none
wiU require a purer or better attested pedagreel—-
