in the lower part of Jones county, and is probably

the copartnership of Graybill & Bonner has
expired. He is still at Cufhbert, Randolph county,
prepared to attend to the business of his profession,
where he will at all times be found, if not absent

HERMITAGE EXTRACT.—This lately in
vented combination of delightful odors, has
acquired a just popularity, not only by reason of
the strength and delicacy, but of the extraordina
ry duration of ils perfume. Whilst the strength of
many r other extracts and essences is almost as eva
nescent as the bloom of the flowers from which
they are derived, the Hermitage retains its fra
grance for an indefinite length of time, and is
scarce to be removed from the garment on which it
is poured, by washing; hence it is probably the
cheapest and most delightful perfume of our labora
tories.

MOFFAT’S VEGETABLE LIFE M EDICIN’EB.
f medicines are indebted for their name
1. to ihi ir manifest and sensible action in pnri
lying the spring and channels of life, and enduing
them with renewed tone and vigor. In many hun
dred certified cases which has been made public,
and in almost every species of disease to which
tire human frame is liable, the happy effects of
MOFFAT’S LIFE PILLS AM) PHENIX BIT
TERS have been gratefully and publicly ac
fnowledged by the persons benefiitted, and who
were previously unacquainted with tbe beau'itully
philosophical principles upon which they are
compounled, and upon which they eonsequently ■
act.
The LIFE MEDICINES recommend themselves
in diseases ol every form and description. Their
first operation is to loosen from the cofits ot the
stomach and bowels, the various impurities and
crudities con tanlly settling around them ; and to
remove the hardened faeces which collect in the
conversions of the smallest intestines. Other
medicines only partially cleanse these, and leave
such collected mosses behind as to produce habitu
al costiveness with i ll its train ofevils, or in a sud
den diarrhoea, with its eminent dangers. This lact
is well known to ail regular anatomists, who ex
amine the human bowels after death; and hen-e
the prejudice of those well informed men against
quack medicines—or medicines prepared and her
alded to the public bv ignorant p« rsong. Ihe se
cond effect of the Lile Medicines is to cleanse the
kidneys and the bladder, and by this means, the
liver and the lungs, the healthful action of which
entirely depends upon the regularity of the urinary
organs. The blood, w hich lakes its red color from
ihe agency of *the liver and the lungs before it
pas>es into tbe hea t, being thus purified by them
and nourished by Ibod coming from a clean stom
ach, courses freely through the veins, renews every
part of the system, and triumphantly mounts the
banner of health in the blooming cheek.
Moffat’s Vegetable Life Medicines have been
thoroughly attested, and pronounced a sovereign
remedy lor Dyspepsia, Flatulency, Palpitation of
the Heart, Loss of Appetite, Heart-burn and Head
ache, Restlessness, 111-temper, Anxiety, Languor
and Melancholy, Costiveness, Diarrhoea, Cholera,
Fevers of all kinds, Rheumatism, Gout, Dropsies
of all kind, Gravel, Worms, Asthma and Consump
tion, Scurvj, Ulcers, Inveterate Sores, Scorbutic
Eruplions and Bad Complexions, Eruptive com
plaints, Sallow, Cloudy, and other disagreeable
Complexions, Salt Rheum, Erysi|«ias, Common
Colds and influenza and various other complaints
which afflict the human frame, in fever and
ague, particularly, the Life Medicines have been
mustemmently successful; so much so that in the
Fever and Ague districts, Physicians almost uni
versally prescribe ihern.
All lhal Mr. Moffat requires of his patient is
to be particular in taking the Life Medicines strictly
according to the directions. It is not by a, news
paper notice, or any thing that he himself may say
in their lavor, that he hopes to gain credit. It is
alone by the result of a fair trial.
MOFFAT’S MEDICAL MANUAL; designed
as a domestic guide to health.—This little pamphlet
edited by W . B. Moffat 375 Broadway New York,
has been published lor the purpose of explaining

lie found highly interesting to persons seeking
health. It treats upon prevalent diseases, and the
causes thereof. Price 25 cents —for salej by Mr.
Moffat's agents generally.
