Rice. — 1 he.c has been an active demand since - our iast, for all qua.ities of kice, at full prices giv- j en in our lust. I’he operations reach 3300 tierces i at the follow ing prices: lob at2s-IG; 84 at 2 7 16; 57 at 2j; 126 at 2 9-16; 71>at 2f 87 at 2 11-1 G; 811 at 83 at 2 13-16; 696 as, 2j; 330 at 3; and 57 tierces at 3g per 100. Grain —The receipts of Corn during the week reach 06 >0 bushels Maryland and Nona r arolina, which weie taken by dealer > within the range of our quotations, viz: extremes, 50a64c per bushel. .V 'out 6000 bushels Maryland Cats have also been received, and sold within quotations, 30a34c per bushel. No Hay or Peas have been received since our last. Flour. —There has been an active demand for Flour since our last; chiefly, however, for home use. A bout 500 bbls. Be it ordained by the City Coun cil of Augusta. That no person shall retail spiritu ous or fermented Liquois, in less quantity than one quait, within the limits of the city, without a Licence from the City Council, and each and every person who shall hereafter apply for such License to the City Council, and each and every person who shall recommend such applicant, shall be deemed and held responsible for the price of sorh License, when the same shall be granted. Persons desiring such License, shall make a written appli cation, accompanied by' a recommendation rimed by two or more respectable citizens. If Council grant the permission requested, the person to whom it U granted shall, in not exceeding live days after it is granted, produce to the Clerk of Council, the receipt of the ' ollectorand Treasurer,for fhc pries of such lfficcr.se, and give bond with approved se curity in the sum of live hundred dollars, for keep ing a decent and or Icrly house, under die penalty of being held and considered as retailing without License, and punished accordingly.
