N. W.lTske, Ft of. Int. and Mor. Phi’y.” Mrs. T is amply recommended by the Principals of the Troy Female Seminary, and also by piufs. Yates of Union College, and Josliu of tiie New York University. The Principals of the Institute, in the discharge of tiie highly ie-ponsible duties which will devolve upon them, wiSi aim at practiced results, and at tempt rather to qualify those submitted to their care for lire duties of real life, than to gain for them the admiration too often bestowed upon . r rati : genius and fanciful attainments. Tiie former requires the symmetrical developt ment of aii the faculties which make up the mental and moral constitutions, and, under no circumstances of future life, wiil it leave the pupil in the condition of a traveller, who should receive for his guidance a map of a different country from that in which i e is to travel. They will aim at permanent results. The pow er and tho habit of reasoning are worth more than any number of the result.-* of others’ rea-onii the loveoi knowledge and a mind well disciplined and directed tor future acquisitions, arc a <r icater blessing than any amount of knowledge without such guaranties lor its perpetuity and increase, as a living fountain is worth, more than a stagnant reservoir of ho wever great dimensions. 3 hey will aim, in short, at combining, in the highest practicable degree, the advantages of home education \v:th tiiosc which, in the general, can only bo enjoyed abroad, where many are brought together for the same obj act; —at concentrating ilie endearments of home, ire social sentiments and its proprieties ol lile —lor the improvement and the enjoyment of tlio c who may thus be removed from the danger ol being injuriously involved in fash ionr.b e dissipation, or being too early occupied wild distracting domestic cures and avocations. It wiii be peicc.ved that the new arrangement leaves the identity ol the institute untouched, it will be the same in its objects and aims—the same in its internal arrangements, in its religious aspects and in the sentiments of it* conductors, as they regard the do nestle institutions of the South.— lienee the propriety of omitting here much that must otherwise ha\e been detailed at large, res pecting our arrangements and the advantages of the n—matters, whim, h ive already and repeatedly been submitted to Hie notice of the public, and as it would seem, met their approbation. '1 he regular Term ot the institute consists of nine months, commincing on the Ist of October, and terminating on the last day cf June. Term divided into/u'O Scssi ns oi four and a baif months each. The Institution wiil be open five days of tiie week, during Hie hours of recitation, from 6 a m. to 5 i* m. to the inspection of patrons and those interested in the cause of Female Education. No expenditures will be made for pupils, for 000. s, s ationary, postage, 2nd necessary articles, such as siroes, &:c. unless an advance is made, in deposite, for the same.
