BEERS & Co. f article published below, concerning the J_ new and popular doctrine advanced by the illustrious Goelicke of Germany, cannot fail of ex citing a deep and thrilling interest throughout our ntry. Qqq q q [Translated from the Geiman.] LOUIS OFFON GOELICKE, of Germany, The Greatest of Human Benefactors. Citizens of North and South America, To Louis Offon Goelicke, M. D., of Germany, [Europe,] belongs the imperishab.e honor of adding a new and precious doctrine to the science of medi cine—a doctrine which, though vehemently opposed by many of the faculty, (of which he is a valuable member,) he proves to be as well founded in truth as any doctrine of Holy Writ —a doctrine, upon the verity of which are suspended the lives of millions of our race, and which he boldly challenges his op posers to refute, viz: Consumption is a disease al ways occasioned by a disordered state of Vis Vitae (or Life Principle; of the human fff often secretly lurking in the system for yi;ars before there is the least complaint of the Lung* </(£ —and which may be as certainly, though not so quickly, as a common co dor a simple headache. An i a valuably precious doctrine this, as Hiroparts an important lesson to the apparently healthy of both sexes, teaching them that tnis msidioils jibe may be an unobserved inmate of their - clayey" houses” even while ttiey imagine themselves aetiure from its attacks, teaching them that the great |«eref in the art of preserving health is topiucu o. ‘life disease when in the blade, and not wait till tkeifi.ll grown ear. j' This illustrious benefactor of man is also entitled to youi unfeigned gratitude, and the gn a Jude of a world, for t.ie invention of his matchle s Sanative, —whose healing hat may justly claim . or it such a title, since it has so signally triumph* d over our great common enemy, Consumption, both in the fust and last stages, —a medicint| which has thoroughly tilled the vacuum in the Mal|»vtaMedica, and thereby proved itself the fj' tf Phy sic iansjf —a medicine, for which pi mankind will have abundant cause to bless tho beneficent band of a kind Providence, —a meai-iue whose wondrous virtues have been so glowingly pourtray ed even by-s une of our clergy, in thjriv pastoral visits to tee sick chamber ; by which jmeans they often become the happy instiumentsofthmgingde « ponding into hope, sickness into health, and sad- \ of friends into joy fulness f 4 11 q Q ■ Q GOELICKE'S MATCHLESS SANATIVE, A medicine of more va.ue to man tu au the vast mines of Austria, or even the united; treasures of our globe, —a medicine, which is obtained equally from the vegatable, animal and minenjl kingdoms, and thus possesses a threefold jjower,-‘-a medicine, which, tbougn designed as a remedy for consump tion solely, is possessed of a mysterious influence ovei many diseases of the human systijrn., —a medi cine, which begins to be valued by philsi.ians, who are daily witnessing its astonishing dries of many whom they had lesigned to the grasp Jjf the insa tiable Grave. ; DOSE of t!ie Sanative, for adults, «mp drop; for children, a half-drop; and for infanljk,'a quarter drop; the directions explaining the rpiiuier of ta king a half or a quarter drop. 5 Price —Three and one-third rix doTars* ($2,50) p r half ounce. , German coin value 75 cents. ; 4 e 4 44 4 A (ertif.cate from three members of the Medical Profession in Germany , in Europe. We, the undersigned, practitioners, of medicine | in Germany, are weil aware that, by jour course, j we may forfeit the friendship of some of the facul- ' ly, but not of its benevolent members, Who are on- j influenced by se.fish motives. 1 hough wc shall j refrain from an expression of our opinion, cither i of the soundness or unsounduess of Or. Goeiick’s j new doctrine we are happy to say that we deem j his Sanative too valuable not to be generally known—for what our eyes behold find our ears hear, we must believe. i We hereby sta e, that when Dr. Louis Orton Goelick first came before the Gennjm public, a« the pretended discoverer of a new doctrine and a j new medicine, we held him in the‘highest con tempt, believing and openly pronouncing him to be j a base impostor .ii.d the prince of quacks. But, or. ! hearing so much said about the Sanative, agaiu-t it i and for it, we were induced, from raoaves of curi- j ositv merely, to make trial ot its reputed virtues ‘ upon a number of our most hopeless patients; and \vg now deem il our bounden duty (even at the ■ expense of self-interest) publicly to acknowledge its eilicacy in curing not only consumption, but | other fearful maladies, which we have heretofore ■ believed to be incurable. Cur contempt for the | discoverer of this medicine was at once swallowed ■ un in our iftter astonishment at these unexpected results; and, as amends for our abuse of him, we do frankly confess to th® world, that we believe him a philanthropist, who does honor to the prol’es skn, and to our countiy, w-hich gave him birth. The recent adoption of this medicine into some o our European hospitals, is a sufficient guaranty that it performs all promises. It needed not our cstitnony, for wherever it is u<ed it is its own best vri ness. HERMAN ET MULLER, m. d. WALTER VAN GAL LT, m. d. ADOLPHUS WERNER, M . d. Germany, December 10, ISSG. 6 fe fc fc THE MATCHLESS SANATIVE.—By an article in our paper to-day, it will be seen that this medi cine has lost none of its virtues by crossing the At lantic—for it appears to be working similar cures *n America to those which have astonished Europe.
