[ Translated from the German.] | |
LOUIS OFFUN GOELICKE, |
of Germany, C
The Greatest of Human Benefactors. *
Citizens of North and South America ,
To Louis Offon Goelicke, M. D., of Germr|iy,
\ Europe,] belongs the imperishable honor of adc*ng
anew and precious doctrine to the science of m<|di- j
cine —a doctrine which, though vehemently opposed
oy many of tue faculty, (of which he is a valuable
member,) he proves to be as well founded in try.th
as any doctrine of Holy Writ —a doctrine,
verity of which are suspended the lives of millions
cl our race, and which he boldly challenges his ip
posers to refute, viz: Consumption is a disease|il
ways occasioned by a disordered state of Vis V|tie
(or Life Principle ) of the human body: ol.cn
secretly lurking in the system for years beilire
there is the teast complaint of the Lungs XT—end
which may be as certainly, though not so quickly,
cured, as a common co.d or a simple headache. -\n
invaluably precious doctrine this, as ri imparts an
important lesson to the apparently healthy of both
sexes, teaching them that this insidious foe may i
be an unobserved inmate of their ‘ clayey houses” j
even while they imagine themselves secure from ;
its attacks, teaching them that! he great secret inthe '
art of preserving health is to pluck out the disease j
when in the blade, and not wait till the full grCwn
ear. 1
This illustrious benefactor of man is also entitled
to your unfeigned gratitude, and tiie gratitude a ;
world, for tire invention of his matchless Sanative,
—whose healing tiat may justly claim for it suifi a i
title, since it has so signally triumphed over aur |
great common enemy, Consumption, both? in
the first and last stages, —a medicine which fas
thoroughly tilled the vacuum in the MateriaMed;:a, j
and thereby proved itself the Conqueror of Ft y- .
sic iansJ^fj —a medicine, for which all mankind
will have abundant cause to bless the beneficent j
hand of a kind Providence, —a medicine wh|se 1
wondrous virtues have been so glowingly' pourtrfy- J
ed even by srme of our clergy, in their pasti‘al i
visits to tee sick chamber; by vviiicii means they j
often become the happy instruments of changing $e- j
spending into hope, sickness into health, and
of friends into joyfulness I i
Q t} 4 Q 3» I
GOELICKE'S MATCHLESS SANATIVE, j
A medicine of more value to man than the vast
mines of Austria, or even the united treasures of
our globe, —a medicine, which is obtained equally
from the vegatahle, animal and mineral kingdoms,
and thus possesses a three-fold power,—a medicine,
which, thougn designed as a remedy for consump
tion solely, is possessed of a mysterious influence
over many diseases of the human system, —a medi
cine, which begins to be valued by physicians, who
are daily witnessing its astonishing cures of many
whom they had icsigned to the grasp of the Insa
tiable Grave.
DOSE of the Sanative, for adults, one drop; for
children, a half-drop; and lor infants, a quarter
drop; the directions explaining the manner of ta
king a half or a quarter drop.
Price— Three and one-third rix dollars* ($3,50)
p r half ounce.
German coin value 75 cents.
QeQ 9 Q
A (erhficate from three members of the Medical
Profession in Germany, in Europe.
We, the undersigned, practitioners of medicine ,
in German v, are well aware that, by our course,
we may forfeit the friendship of some of the facul
tv, but not of its benevolent members,'"ho are un- !
influenced by se.lish motives. Though we shall ;
refrain from an expression of our opinion, cither
of the soundness or unsoundness of Dr. Goclick’s
new doctrine, we are happy to say that we deem
his Sanative too valuable not to be generally
known —for what our eyes behold and our ears
hear, we must believe.
We hereby sta e, that when Dr. Louis Offen j
Goelick tirst came before the German public, as
the pretended discoverer of a new doctrine and a
new medicine, we held him in the highest con
tempt. believing and openly pronouncing him to be
a base impostor u d the prince of quacks, but, on
hearing so much said about the Sanative, against it
and for it, we were induced, from motives of cun
on wr‘merely, to make trial of its reputed virtues
upon a number of our mo>t hopeless patients ; and
we now deem it our bounden duty (even at the
expense of self-interest) publiciy r to acknow icdge
its Efficacy in curing not only' consumption, but
other fearful maladiel, which we have heretofore
believed to be incurable. Our contempt for the
discoverer of this medicine was at once swallowed
up in our utter astonishment at these unexpected
results; and, as amends for our abuse of him, we
do frankly confess to the world, that we believe
him a philanthropist, who does honor to the profes
skn, audio our country, which gave him birth.
The recent adoption of this medicine into some
o our European hospitals, is a sufficient guaranty
that it performs all promises. It needed not our
cStimony, for wherever it is used it is its own best
wi mess. HERMAN ETMULLKR, m. d.

THE MATCHLESS SANATIVE. —By an article
in our paper to-day, it will be seen that this medi
cine has lost none of its virtues by crossing the At
lantic—for it appears to be working similar cures
in America to those which have astonished Europe.

The Chroniclf. and Sentinei is devoted to
-Commerce, Politics, and General Intelligence.
Its location in the principal mart of the State,
gives it decided advantages over the papers of any
other part ot the State, in presenting the earliest
ana most important commercial news. Reports of
the most important markets in the Union are copied
with great care, and a review of the Augusta mar

strictest accuracy for the tri-weekly and weekly
papers, which affords the Merchant, Planter and
at classes of society, the earliest and most impor

In Politics, it is the advocate of a sound curren
cy, based upon specie—the re-charterof a National

reform and retrenchment in the Federal adminis

present administration of the Genei i 1 Government. |
In miscellany and general ii. tell igenee, great i
