Tippecanoe Boys Attend! A meeting of the Central Tippecanoe Club will be held THIS EVENING, at early candle light in the City Hall. A general attendance is desired, as the Hon. W. C. Dawson and E. A. Nesbit will probably be present and address the meeting. Meeting in Columbia County. Rice. —There has been some inquiry for this ar- I tide during the week, principally for the West I India market, w hich, together with the very small I supply on sale, has advanced former quotations. I The transactions are 1041 tierces at the fallowing I prices:—3o at 2§; 96 at 3; 121 at 3£; 90 at 3£; ; 129 at 3 5-16; 455 at3f; and 120 tierces at per : 100. We quote inferior to fair 3 a 3£; good to prime, a 34. Grain. —About 8000 bushels Corn have been re ceived during the week. We quote 60 cents per bushel as a fair criterion of the market, sales hav ing been made a little below, and at something above this rate. About 160 bales Hay have also been received, which w'as sold to arrive with our quotations 100 to 110 per 100 lbs. Flour. —A fair business has been doing in Balti more, Howard-street, Philadelphia, and Virginia, within the range of our quotations, a 6$ per barrel. Canal in small lots, commands s>6 per bar rel. Salt.— About 1582 sacks Liverpool have been ffeeived this week, which has not met a purcha ser. Sugars. —There has been some demand for sev eral descriptions of this article during the week. Muscovado has been taken in small lots within the range of our rates; a large parcel was also taken on speculation, on terms not made phblic. 60 box es brown Havana brought 7 cents per lb; and 50 barrels while do. sold at a fraction below quoted rates. Molasses. —Two separate lots West India 3lo lasses brought prices within the range of our quo tations, viz ; 20 a 22 cents per gallon. Coffee. —Between 3 and 400 bags Rio have changed hands at our quotations, 10 a 11 cents per pound, ® Exchange. —Bills on England, a per cent pvem. On France, 520 a sf. 25 per dollar. Bank rate for sight checks on New York, 1£ a 2 per cent prem.; time checks, interest oil'. Freights. —Our port at present is very bare of shipping. A vessel was engaged during the week for Liverpool at 4d. for square Upland, and 9-l6ths for Sea island. To Boston a vessel has been taken up at a cent per lb. for Cotton. STATEMENT OF COTTON. Cotton —Arrived since the 17th inst. 1134 bales Upland, and cleared at the same time 2040 bales Upland, viz: to New York 1525 bales; to Provi dence 385; to Boston 130 b.des, leaving a stock on hand, inclusive of all on shipboard not cleared on the 24th inst. of 1847 bales Upland, and 17 bales Sea Island Cotton. Our Cotton market has been exceedingly dull all the week, and holde;s are un able to ellect sales at former rates. The sales of the week are 280 bales, viz; 39 at 74; 2 at 3; 44 at 1 at 81 at 8-f; 12 at 9$ ; 72 at 9| ; 4 at FlO; 25 at 10g. In Sea Island no sales to report. Rice —This article fro.n its scarcity and brisk demand has advanced fully £ (a) $ since our last report. The sales of the week amount to 833 casks, viz: 76 at 3; 45 at 3 1-16; 260 at 3s; 452 at and a few casks by retail at s3j. Flour —There is a better supply and sales are conhned to small parcels at previous prices. How ard street at $6 (a) pairs at 74. Corn —Sales of 600 bushels fiom shipboard at 1 65 cts, and 1000 busnels from store at 7u (a) 75 cts. groceries —Those has been two arrivals of Cos- I fee and Molasses fiom Havana this week. Sales Jot 100 bags of the former at 1(fl> 12,and 50 hhds of the latter, in lots, at 24 cts. In Sugar we have no transactions to repo.t. Baci n —The sales of Hams, Shoulders and Sides (have been confined to small lots at previous rates Hih —Sales of 400 bundles on the whaif at 70 (a) ffo cents. Spirits —ln domestic liquors the transactions have been chiefly confined to lots required by the trade at prices current last week. Exchange —On England 12 cent prerniun; Drafts on New Yo;k, at sight, 8 (a) 10 p ct prem. Freights —To Liverpool dull. New York, Liverpool, July 3. 6 X'otton. —There has again been a large business done in American descriptions. The speculator have been principal operators, the tnde having only taken out their regular supplies. Yesterday and to-daj much loss has been doing, but the market closes steady at an advance upon the lowest sales of the early part of last week of jd lb. in the ordinary and fair qualities, and gd in tire good fair and good.
