LOST NOTES.
IN the month of June, 1825, 1 enclosed in a let
t r, bj mai , to John C. Richards, merchant of
Baltimore, the first halves of three notes of the
following description, to wit, one half of note num
ber 2158, on the Bank of tlie Stale of North Caro
lina, payable at Raleigh, for one hundred dollars;
one half of note number 287, on the Bank of Au
gusta, Georgia, payable to 11. T'ulman, for fifty
dollars; a?id one half of note number 196, Bank of
August i, Georgia, payable to J. G. Cowling, for fifty ;
dollars, which wcie received by said Richards, on
tiie 18th June, 1825; and in the month of July fol
lowing, 1 enclo-ed, by mail, in a letter directed to
said Richards, the other half of all said Bank notes
aforesaid, which were never received by said Rich
ards, and which were lost or taken from the mail.
Any information in relation to said lost halves of
said notes will be thankfully received, and any
person finding said halves, shall be amply compen- I

plantation,rear Quincy, Florida,on
the Bth uit., a negro fellow by the name of Joshua.
He is about 30 years old, 6 feet high, inclines to
to stoop forward when walking, commonly wears
large whiskers, lie had cn, when lie left, a blue
tvvi led homespun coat and omaburg pantaloons.
He sometimes calls himself Joshua Bush, having
formerly belonged to a family by that name, near
the Lower Three Runs, in the State of South Car
olina. Joshua is well known in the city of Sa
; vanuah, on the Savannah iivei, and in Augusta,
Ga.. where he is aiming to get; and fiom theie,
very probably, he will make his way to Charles
ton, S. C. 1 have some reason to believe he has a
forged pass.
The above reward will be given for his ap
prehension and delivery to me at my plantation in
Florida, or SSO if lodged in the State of Georgia or
South Carolina, so that I can get him.

STOP THE HORSE THIEF.
On ast Friday' night the subscriber’s
stable was robbed of a dtrk bay Horse,
t A r i eight years old, and 103 hands high. —
His mane and tail are long and black, lias a fresh
cut on the left cheek, about lA inches long, on his
rigln side near the shoulder, there is a dimple, as
if a rib had been broken, and if closely examined,
it will be found that both ears have neen very
slightly' cropped. A rewaidot FIFTY DOLLARS
will be given for the Horse, and such information
as will convict the thief, or Ton Dollars for the
