could be admitted to take the b ctorship of tne
Columbia County Academy, whici he had for three
years. Should a class of eight o ten young men
be found, be could devote two 1 mrs to their in
struction each day', at a time that ould not inter
fere with his School. There are ' nee things con
nected with the Classics, wh : ch • almost, if not
totally neglected in our Southern eminaries, viz;
Mythology, Latin Exercises, and rosody, without
which the Scansion of Pentaraetei and Hexameter
Verse cannot be acquired.
The first quarter’s tuition win be required at
entrance, and the scholastic year a ill be the same
as that of the other Seminaries of s .e city.

smith, and fond of gambling, and is ire, if taken

has runaway twice before. Once I { >t him out of
Augusta jail, and once from Charle ton, S. C. I
purchased him from Benj. Davis in Hamburg. —

PUBLIC SALE OF PLANTATION.
ON the first Tuesday in December next, at the
lower market in the city of Augusta, will be
ottered for sale that valuable Plantation on Savan
nah River, in Edgefield District, S. C., known s
Horse Creek, about a mile and a half below Au
gusta, containing BU4 acres, agreeably to plat, a
considerable per lion of which is fertile, low
grounds and Isinglass lands. There is a Flat and
a right of way forever secured through the plan
tation of Mr. Watley, ou the Georgia side, directly
opposite.

two equal payments of ore and two years, secured

vannah, on the Savannah river, and in Augusta
Ga., where he is aiming to get; and from there*
very probably, he will make his way to Charles
ton, S. C. I have some reason to believe he has a
forged pass.
