The Central Tippecanoe Club of Richmond
County will meet at the Lafayette Hali on 1 riday j
evening, the 30’h inst., at o’clock. Ihe friends
of the cause generally throughout the County are
respectfully invited to attend,and join us in giving
one more shove at the “ Almighty lever of pub
lic opinion.”
The different Ward Clubs are requested to meet
at their respective Cabins, at 7 o'clock, and proceed
under the command of their respective officers to

SCHOOL NOTICE.
THE subscriber will continue his School at the
new dwelling on Walker street, and hopes
that the distance to his place will not be an objec
tion with any lady or gentleman who may be kind
ly disposed to patronize him. He will pledge him
self to prepare youth for PTanklin College, or any
other College in the Union, in Classics and in the
minor branches of Mathematics,and should a suffi
cient p.a’ronage be extended to him, he could secure
the services of a gentleman of well known ability
in Mathematical science. In reference to the sub
scriber himself, he has had charge of Schools and
Academies in this State during a period of ten
years, and begs leave to refer, if necessary’, to Col.
Thomas N. Hamilton of Athens, and the Rev.
Juiiah Harris, before whom he had been examined
by a classical gentleman of the North, before he
could he admitted to take the Rectorship of tne
Columbia County Academy, which he had for three
years. Should a class of <ig tor ten young men
be found, he could devote two hours to there in '
struction each day, at a time that would not inter
fere with his School. There are throe things con
net ted with the Classics, which is almost, ts not
totally neglected in our Soutnern Seminaries, viz:
Mythology, Latin Exercises, and Prosody, without
which the Scansion of Pentameter and Hexameter
Verse cannot be acquired.
The first quarter’s tuition will be required at
entrance, and the scholastic year will be the same
as that of the other Seminaries of the city.
At a future time should his patrons desire his
comfi g to a more convenient p ace, he will comply

their gate, renders drayage unnecessary. To
guard against accidents to teams, cotton from
wagons will be leceived at the gate on Walker
