[Translated from the German.]
LOUIS OFFON GUELICKE.
* of Germany,
The Greatest of Human Bkrefagt-jrs
Citizens of North and South America ,
To Louis Uffon Goelickc, M. D., of Germany,
[Europe,] belongs the imperishable honor of adding
a new and precious doctrine to the science of inedi-
C . DC —a doctrine which, though vehemently opposed
ov many of the faculty, (of which he is a valuable
member,) he proves to be as well founded in tniin
as any doctrine of Holy Writ —a doctrine, upon the
verily of which are suspended the lives of millions
of our race, and which he boldly challenges his op
poser* to refute, viz: Consumption is a disease al
ways occasioned by a disordered state of Vis Vitas
ior"Lift* Principle , of the human body: (£f often
secretly lurking in the system for years before
here is the least complaint of the Lungs and
which may be as certainly, though not so quickly,
cured, as a common cold or a simple headache. An
invaluably precious doctrine this, as i* imparts an
important lesson to the apparently healthy of both
sexes, teaching them that this insidious foe may
be an unobserved inmate of their “ clayey houses”
even while they imagine themselves secure from
t*, attacks, teaching them thzi the great secret in the
att of preserving health is to pluck out the disease
when in the blade, and not wait till the full grown
tar.
This illustrious benefactor of man is also entitled
to rout unfeigned gratitude, and the gratitude of a
world, for the invention of his matchless Sanative,
—whose healing hat may justly claim for it such a
title, since it has so signally triumphed over our
great common enemy, Consumption, both in
the first and last stages, —a medicine which has
thoroughly filled the vacuum in Hie Materia Medic a,
and thereby proved itself the Conqueror of Phy
tic ians PO —a medicine, for which all mankind
will cause to bless the beneficent
hand of a kind Providence, —a medicine whose
wondrous v irtues have been so glowingly pourtray
ed even by sline of our clergy, in their pastoral
visits to tee sick chamber; by which means they
often become the happy instruments of changing de
iponding into hope, sickness into health, aud sad
of friends into joy falftew

GOELICKE S MATCHLESS SANATIVE,
A medicine of more value to man than the vast
mines of Austria, or even the united treasures ol
our globe,—a medicine, which is obtained equally
from the vega table, aOimal and mineial kingdoms,
and thus possesses a three-fold power,--a medicine,
which, lii«3ugu designed as a remedy for consump
tion solely, is possessed of a mysterious influence
over many diseases of the human s} stem, a medi
cine, which begins to be valued by physicians, who
are daily vritoesaing its astonishing cures ol many
whom they had itsigncd to the grasp of the Insa
tiable Grave. , , , e

A fertificate from three members of the Medical
Profession in Germany, in Europe.
9We the undersigned, practitioners of medicine
lu Germany, are well aware that, by our course,
we may forfeit the friendship of some ol the 1 acui
ty but not of its benevolent members, who are un
influenced by se.lisb motives. Though we shall
refrain flora an expression of our opinion, either
of the soundness or ussoundness of Dr. i.oelick’s
new doctrine we are happy to say that we deem
his Sanative too valuable not to be generally
known—for what oar eyes behold and our ears
hear, we must believe. .
We Hereby sta e, that when Dr. UawOffen
Goelick first came before the German public, as
the pretended discoverer of a new doctrme and a
new medicine, we held him in the highest con
tempt, believing -ml openly pronouncing him to be
a base impostor . d the prince oi quacks. But, on
hearing so much said about the Sanative, against it
a i tor it, we were induced, from motives of cun
si, merely, to make trial of its reputed virtues
upon a number of our most hopeless patients; and
we now deem it our bovmdcn duty (even at the
expense of self-interest publicly to acknowledge
its efficacy in curing not only consumption, but
other fearful maladies, which we have tvereiotorc
believed to be incurable. Our contempt for the
discoverer of this medscine was at once swallowed
up in our utter astonishment at these unexpected
results ; and, as amends for our abase of him, we
do frankly confess to the world, that we believe
him a philanthropist, wha does honor to the protes
sicn and to our coualiy, which gave hun birth..
The recent adoption of this medicine into some
o our European hospitals, is a sufficient guaranty
that it performs all promises. It needed not our
estimony, for wherever it is used it is its own best

common and disagreeable ‘-ills the flesh is heir to.”
This prize Mains its own name from the certain
success hieh has attended it through al! of its
trying e comstances, namely, “live days,”—the
same su .-ess which followed it in a Northern lati
tude still obtains in a more Southern. The formula
or recipe was obtained at great expense, intrigue
and hazard by* M. Clteveres, from the celebrated
Indian t hies Wabeno/ke, or Great Moon, whilst
he, with others was pursuing the lucrative Fur bu
siness in the North-west with the Indians. —
Wabenoshe prized highly and use it with invariable
success throughout his two tribes. Its known and
valued virtues have already enriched to an almost
incredible extent the children of this warlike prince,
not only by actual sale of the article itself to in
dividuals, but by* parting with copies of his receipt
at enormous prices to the Chief of every tribe ol
Indians in America, with a solemn promise to the
Great Spirit, never lo divulge the “art of its com
position uatilhe sleeps with his fathers,”

Below is a copy of the translation as near as it can
be anglisized of the deed guJti by* Wabenoshe, to

This Medicine,! warnmt by this publication, un
der a penalty of $5,000, not lo contain one parti
cle of corrosive preparation. It is purely vegala
ble in its essences. Its first and prominent virtue
is to subdue every vestige of inflamation, and then
acts mildly and copiously as a diuretic; thereby
holding within itself, every requisite virtue, for
the subductiou of this loathsome malady*—and ev
ery regular graduate in medicine, will sustain the
assertion, that copious diuresis and reduction of in
flation, are the only two things necessary to effect
a sound and radical cure
The most peculiar virtue of the “Cinq Jours,”
is in this, that wherever it alone has been used to
alfect a cure, none of those tenacious and disagree
able consequences which almost invariably results
from the sudden cure of Gonorrhoea, have been
known to obtain such as stricture, hernia, humot
alis, incontinence, and a swarm of other of the
mos loathsome, perplexing, and disagreeable dis
eases, consequent upon erroneous diagnosis and
treatment of Gonorrhoea.
Those affected are requested to call and try foi
