FOR the cure of white swellings, scrofulous and other tumors, ulcers, sore legs, old and fresh wounds, sprains and bruises, swellings and inflam mations, scald head, women’s sore breasts, rheu matic pains, tetters, eruptions, chilblains, whitlows, biles, corns, and external diseases generally. The proprietor has received at least a thousand cert fi cates and other documents in favor of his SPECI FIC OINTMENT—and they embrace almost all the complaints in their worst stages —to which ointment or sticking plaster can be applied Among these certificates, there are a great number from the most eminent physicians in the country, who use the Ointment in their daily practice, in preference to any, or all others w hich have ever been invented. The proprietor has also received a great many tes timonials from farriers, military gentlemen, farmers, and others, relative to the amazing efficacy of his Ointment, in the bruises, cuts, and all the external complaints and diseases of horses: and among them are no less than a dozen certifying to the most per fect cures which it has perlormed on the sore backs of some of those animals. Altogether the proprietor feels no hesitation in stating—or in put ting it to the proof against all composition—that HARRISON’S SPECIFIC OINTMENT is vastly superior to every thing ot the kind which has here tofore been offered to the public; and the proprietor not only vouches for its general good qualities, but is willing to risk his reputation on a single trial , for he knows from the mos ample experience, that it cannot be used without immediate and palpable benefit, in any one of the complaints fur which it is so highly recommended. MOFFAT’S VEGETABLE LIFE MEDICINES fINHESE medicines are indebted for meir name i to th< ir manifest and sensible action in puri fying the spring and channels of life, and enduing them with renewed tone and vigor. In manv hun dred certified cases which has been made public, and in almost even species of disease to which the human frame is liable, the happy effects of MOFFAT’S LIFE PILLS AND PHENIX BIT TERS have been gratefully and publicly ac knowledged by the persons beneliitted, and who were previously unacquainted with the beautifully philosophical principles upon which they are compounded, and upon which they eonsequently act. The LIFE MEDICINES recommend themselves in diseases ot every form and descripiion. Their first operation is to loosen from the coats of the stomach and bowels, the various impurities and crudities eon-tantly settling around them ; ana to remove the hardened faeces which collect convolusions of the smallest intestines. Other medicines only partially cleanse these, and leave such collected masses behind as to produce habitu al costiveness w ith &11 its train ofevils. or in a sud den diarrhoea, w ith its eminent dangers. This tact is well known to all regular anatomists, who ex amine the human bowels after death ; and hence the prejudice of those well informed men against quack met Urines —or medicines prepared and her laded to the public bv ignorant p< rsons. r l he se cond effect of the Life Medicines is to cleanse the kidneys and the bladder, and by this means, the liver and the lungs, the healthful action of which entirely depends upon the regularity oft he urinary organs. The blood, which lakes its red color from the agency of the liver and the lungs before it passes into the heat, being thus purified by them and nourished by food coming from a clean stom ach, courses freely thiough the veins, renews every part of the system, and triumphantly mounts the banner of health in the blooming cheek. Moffat’s Vegetable Life Medicines have been thoroughly attested, and pronounced a sovereign remedy for Dyspepsia, Flatulency, Palpitation of the Heart, Loss of Appetite, Heart-hurt, and Head ache, Restlessness, 111-temper, Anxiety, Languor and Melancholy, Costiveness, Diarrhoea, Cholera, Fevers of all kinds, Rheumatism, Gout, Dropsies of all kind, Gravel, Worms, Asthma and Consump tion, Scurv}, Ulcers, Inveterate Sores, Scorbutic Eruptions and Bad Complexions, Eruptive com plaints, Sallow, Cloudy, and other disagreeable Complexions, Salt Rheum, Erysq»elas, Common Colds and influenza and various other cornplamis which afflict the huma? frame. In fever and ague, particularly, the Life Medicines have been most eminently successful; so much so that in the Fever and Ague districts, Physicians almost uni versally prescribe them. All that Mr. Moffat requires of his patient is to be particular in taking the Life Medicines strictly according to the directions. It is not by a news paper nonce, or any thing that he himself may say m their favor, that he hopes to gain credit, ft is alone by the result of a fair trial. MOFFAT S MEDICAL MANUAL , designed as a domestic guide to health.—This little pamphlet | edited by W. B Moffat 375 Broadway New York, ; has been published lor the purpose ot explaining more fully -Mr. Moffat’s theory ol diseases, and w ill I be found highly interesting to persons sceki g health. There are many families who have considered Sick Headache a con stitutional incurable family complaint- Dr. S. as sures them that they are mistaken, and labouring under distress which iney might not only alleviate but actually eradicated by the use jf his remedy. It is the result of scientific research, and is entirely of a different chat acler from advertised patent medi cines, and is not unpleasant to the taste. HEADACHE, SICK OR NERVOUS. The extraordinary reputation that Dr. Spohn’s remedy for this distressing compaint is every day gaining is certainly a matter of much astonishment, That so much suffering should have existed forages w ithout any discovery of an effectual preventive, or cure, is truly a subject of much regret but Dr. S. now assures the public that such a remedy has been invented as will convince the most credulous. The principles on which it acts are simple and plain. It is an a. milted fact that this complaint, w hether called Sick Headache, or Nervous Headache, arises prim arily from the stomach—those who think they have the Nervous Headache may rest assured that i his organ, the stomach, is the first cause, that lh° sys tem has become vitiated or debilitated, thiough the stomach, and that only through the same channel must they expect s restoration of the naiural and healthy functions ql the system, 'i bis object, Dr Spohn’s remedy is eminently calculated to attain. The truth of this position cannot be controverted, and the sooner sufferers with ihe headache become convinced of it, the sooner will their suffering end in restoration of health, Dr. Spohn pledges his professional reputation on this fact. Tne remedy may be had of apothecaries generally throughout the Unitea States. In every instance that has come to the knowledge of the proprietors, it has proved itself to be what it is recommended—a pleasant, safe, and efficacious remedy for all the sympathetic affections attendant on Pregnancy, and all those periodical disorders to which both married and unmarried females are liable. Delicacy forbids giving the details of its merits in a news paper advertisement, but it may be stated that it has been in use under various names — (The Ph/lo token, Mother's Relief, S/-C..J for some ten years past, and wherever introduced, the demand for it, (without the aid of “ puffing,”) has been constant ly on the increase.
