others, and of jpftice to himfelf, requests, that
* those persons who have so long been in the
practice of cutting down, and carrying off and
consuming, the lumber and fire-wood trees,
to desist from such illegal proceedings.—He
perfectly understands the value of the lands,
as an appendage to the growing town of Au
gusta, or he would not have taken the early
pains he did to acquire them. They are his
right: but'h is not his desire to perpetuate a
monopoly of them ; and will, therefore, dis
pose of parcels, upon liberal terms, to gen
tlemen for village or summer eftablilhraent.

country. Any person or perlbns
claiming the said Negro, by proving
his or her property, and applying to
me in Burke county, may have him
on paying charges.

WHEREAS the Books that Mr. John
Davifon, deceased, kept for Crook
/hanks & Speers , and Crookjbanks £5 Co. were
afiigned over to me on the ift of May 1788,
and alio received a full power of attorney
from the above concerns to recover the debts
duTon the hid Books, in payment of a debt
due me by the said Company, and being in
formed that the deceased took specialties from
the different people who (land indebted on
the Books, and as some of them are withheld
from me; I give this notice, that no person
can be fafe in paying them to any other person
than myfelf, as their refpecHve aceompts, as
yet, Band open on the Books.
I now take the liberty to inform all persons
who stand indebted on ihe id Books, that
am about to place their- accounts in the
hands of an Attorney, to be recovered as the
law direfls, as no further indulgence can be
given; and all those to whom the said deceas
ed was indebted on account of the above con
cern, are desired to render in their accounts
properly attested to mi it

branded on her hind quarter with
the letter T she wa ks and trots full,
has a blemifii on one of her eyes,
and is about 7 years old. Alio; a
Dark So rel Hoife , much about the
fame size, he has no brand, is white
on his nose, has one hind white leg,
and a fmall white (pot on the fnuffle
joint of the tame leg j also, several
white ipots oh his back.
If strayed, 1 will give Eight Dol
lars reward to any person returning
them ; if ftoleri, Ten Guineas for the
horses and thieves.

the money is not paid up before the said twen
