Bating that he was confined by virtue of
a writ of capias ad JatisJacier.dum, -ffued
at the instance of David Witt, affignec of
J. M. Whitney, and having obtained an
order in terms of the law paffsd the fifth
day of December, 1801, to notify his
creditors ot his infolvcncy : All credi
tors of the said Wm. Hamilton, are here
by notified that the fecund Monday in
Oftubei next, at ( arnefvillc, in Frank
jin county, is appointed for the time and
place at which the said William Hamil
ton is to appear, and will then and there
be ready, as Bated in his petition, to de
liver up a schedule of his property, both
real and personal, of which he may be
possessed, in order that he may be dif
ebarged in terms of the law, and ot
which the said David Witt, and all o
thers the creditors of the said William
Hamilton, are defued to take notice.

WHEREAS it has been represent
ed to me by divers persons ol te
fpeftability, that George Latham > has
been offering for fa e ceitain lands in
Barnwell, (iormerly Orangeburg) diftrrd,
itate of South-Carolina, originally grant
cd to William Minor and George La
tham, Ido hereby caution and lorwarn
all persons against purchafmg said land
of him, or any part or parcel thereof,
at he can have no pcflible right or title
to said land, or any part of it; said land
being already fold, and regularly con
veyed, under a power ‘of attorney from
him ((aid Latham) to William Minor,
fen. (ihe underwritten) both the power
of attorney and conveyance appear on
the records of Orangeburg diftritl, prior
to any other conveyance on record rela
tive to said lands—do also inform, that
I have given Mr. Latham credit in
his account, for one half ol what I
fold the lands for— aifa, that Mr. La
tham did, on the 29th of December,
1794., acknowledge ray tight to fell the
said lands, by drawing out his account of
Tales of said lands, swearing to the just
ness of it, and issuing attachment against
my property in Augufla, in order to compel
payment, although the balance was con
fiderably in my favor, and he of course
cast in his fait—alfo, that alter these
tranfaflions in Augusta, he proceeded to
Philadel; bia, and fold (aid land# to a Mr,
Robert Shazo, merchant there, and receiv
ed payment from him. Should he alter
this publication, attempt to fell thofc
lands over again, 1 hereby forworn all
perlons from puichafing laid lands of
him. If it fliould be afksd why he does
not account with me in South Carolina,
where I rcftde, it may be ar.fwctcd, bc
caufc he has not honesty enough to ac»
count with me for money I paid for him
into the Treasury, and the other state of
fices, which was to entitle him to one
half said lands, fay £ 836 1 s 4. sterling,

fifteen handi high, trots and canters very
neatly, anti of a very fcay carriage, brand

fall, and has a trick of thiowing up his
head often when rode. As well as the

said Horse had a few white hairs in his
forehead, and a light (freak on bis nose,
inclining to one of his noftiils. The
above deferibed Horse formerly belong
ed to the Federal Troop, at or near Au
gufta, in Georgia; it is probable the said
Horse may be offered for sale fomewherc
to the southward of this in some of the
towns, or poilibly in the upper country.
The above reward will be paid upon
profccuting the thief or thieves to coo
vision, or should information be given
to the Subscriber, by poll or other wife,
fb that the said Horse may be recovered
again, a reward of Twenty Dollars, with
all reasonable charges will he paid, by
