the eleftion of four persons to represent the
citizens of Georgia, in the House of Re
presentatives of the United States, be
published in the several gazettes of this
slate, that the eleftors in the refpeftive
counties thereof may, at the ensuing ge
neral eleftion, govern themselves accord
ingly.

several counties in this slate, to tleft
font persons to represent them in the
House of Representatives of the United
States.
WHEREAS by the late enumeration
of inhabitants of the United States, this
state is entitled to four members in the
House of Representatives of the United
States ;
Be it therefore enafted, by the Senate
and House of Representatives of the State
of Georgia, in General Ajfetnhly met,
Th;it at the general eleftion which (hall
be held for members of the State Legisla
ture, on the firft Monday in Oftober
next, and at any second general eleftion,
the eleftors at such eleftions, (hall be en
titled to vote for four persons to represent
this date, in the House of Representatives
of the United States, under such rules and
regulations as are preferibed by the elec
tion laws of this state now in force.

lowing, to wit:
“ RESOLVED, That his Excellency
the Governor he and he is hereby autho
“ rifed and requested, topurfac such mea
“ fures as in his judgment may most cf

“ claims which the citizens of this state
“ may have against the Creek Nation ol
“ Indians; which said claims, (hall, before
“ they are exhibited, be duly authentic
“ catcd by the oath of one or more dis
“ interested persons, taken and certified
“ by any judge, jufticc of the peace, or
“ clerk of the superior or inferior
“ courts,*' Having passed both branches
of the Icgillature, and received the assent
of the executive—it is
Ordered, That all persons having
claims against the Creek Nation of In
dians, for property of any defeription by
them taken or plundered, be and they
are hereby required, to transmit the fame
as soon as pcffible to the executive depart
ment, authenticated in the manner by
the afore recited resolution pointed out.

Floyd Jarvis, to fatisfy sundry executi
ons, pointed out by the defendant.
Aifo, eight hundred and thirty-eight
acres of pine land, in the county of Rich
mond, on the waters of Rocky creek,
adjoining lands, at the time of survey, of
Bacon, Lamar, Boihck, Walton, Cole
man and Gordon, and on all other sides
vacant land; the above property levied
on as the property of David Douglass, to
fatisfy an execution obtained in favor of
John Hume, pointed out by the holder of
tFe execution.
Aifo, 200 acres of land, pn Keg creek,
when granted in the county of Richmond,
but now in the county of Columbia, at
the time of survey was vacant on all Tides,
which said trad of land was originally sur
veyed and granted to Barbay Clarke;
the above property levied on as the pro
perty of Thomas Cole, to fatisfy an ex

that they enlisted to serve in the army of
the United Slates during the war, and
that they aftually served until the end of
laid war. It will also be neccffary for the
representatives of non-commiflioncd offi
cers, &c. who were cnlilled during the
war, and v.’cre killed in the service, to
produce evidence to prove that they were
“ slain by the enemy.”

in South Carolina, on the night of

ers ; one by name JEREMIAH WHIT
SON, about 5; feet 10 inches high, well
made, appears to be abcut 30 or
years of age, of a fair completion, and
one of his fore teeth cut. He was iro
priloncd for horse Healing, and is a very
crafty old vilain. It is txpcdlcd he will

The other is a young man by the name
of EDWARD FINLEY, who was fen
ti*nced to five years imprisonment for de
flouring a virgin under 14 years of age.
He is flout made, and inclinable to be
fat, about 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, and
at present of a whitilh completion, oc
casioned by confinement, but naturally
swarthy.
One Honored Dollars will be
paid to any one who will deriver Whit
ion to me at Edgefield, or fecurc him in
any jail in the states of South-Carolina
North Carolina, Georgia or Tern-.flee,
so that I may hear of him—and FiFTr
Dollars will be given for the delive
ry of Finley to me, or securing him in
