The steamers aro detained in port by a heavy North East storm. No deaths from yellow fever have been reported in the last 24 hours. TENNESSEE. Utfd to Emit. Memphis, Sept. 10.—General Browne, who killed Gapt. Adams, has been released on giving bail in the sum of $5,000. CALIFORNIA. Mortality Among Emigrant*. Sept. 10.—The steamboat Norwalk, running between New York and Coney Island, while coining np to tho city this afternoou, wheu off Robin’s llecf, at 3:45, exploded her boiler, kill iug and wounding a number of people. Sbo was towed to tho city. Comptroller Connelly informed a re porter yesterday evening that lio had no intention of resigning, aud Mayor Hall said he had not heard that any of the city officials designed to do so. The corporation counsel will reply to morrow, before Judge Barnard, toun ap plication for a perpetual injunction against the city officials. Mayor Hull dedided to take no part iu the case. Tweed’s constituents will hold an open air meeting next Saturday evening, at which Congressman Roberts will preride and Mayor Hall, Judge Cardoza and others will speak. The Police Commissioners, yesterday evening, unanimously dismissed Jolm Foley’s complaint against policeman Hieks for refusing to arrest the disturbers of the recent municipal reform meeting at Harlem. The Times money article this morning says: “the recent heavy full in the Han nibal and St. Jo. Railway Block is due to the troubles of the City Ilall ring which holds a largo amount.” Hudson, Boptembcr 10. —A strong guard appeared around the Catholic church, but the obnoxious Priest not ap pearing, the crowd quietly dispersed. Rochester, September 10. —Rev. A. G. Hall, for thirty years Pastor of the Third Presbyterian church, is dead. WASHINGTON moved at tho rate of 30,000 a day. Kingston, September 9.—The hurrican on the 21st ult., on Ortigna Island, was very severe, and damaged every estate on tho Island. Tho loss is immense.— Five churches have been prostrated, und more than eight hundred houses. Forty estates havo been destroyed on St. Kitt’s Island, and tho growing crops destroyed on Island Saba. W. McKenny, who sailed from New York for Kcv West lust week, telegraphed the United States Mnrshal for the Southern District (»f Florida, to have all processes returnable on the 18th of September, when the Judge will bear all coses connected with the wrecks caus ed by tho recent cyclone. Haze aud smoke prevails from southern Michigan to Arkansas.— The barometer has fallen somewhat in the Middle and Eastern States, where partially cloudy and clear weather is re ported. The storm which was, on Satur day evening, some distance off the South Carolina coast, Is now beyond the cogni- zance of our stations. Northeasterly winds have prevailed from Virginia to Florida, and a small disturbance, which passed into southern Georgia, hits now disappeared.
