Rag Paajunaoo, October 25.—Bill Rus sell, another one of the escaped prison- era from Nevada, has been captured while endeavoring to ship for n foreign port. George Q. Cannon, a Mormon leader, says if oonvictions continue, the Mor mons will burn all they have and make another expedition, as they did from Il linois. . At Los Angelos a fight has occurred in the Chinese quarter. An officer attempted to arrest a Chinaman for Bhooting another. He was resisted and called on Robert Thompson, a citizen, to assist him. The Chinese opened fire on both. Thompson fell and died immediately. Officer Bilderaon was shot but escaped on horseback. The mob soon collected and attacked the whole Chinese quarter. The attack was resisted in a spirited manner by the Chinese, when fifteen hnndrod armed men surronnded their quarters to prevent their escape. The mob banged fifteen Chinamen and fired thair houses. The firs, however, was ex- tingnished. At 9 P.M. order at Los Angelos was partly restored by the authorities. No more bloodsed has taken place. Several Chinamen have been arrested and lodged in jail. Fires are raging on the coast of the ooucties from Los Angelos northward The People’s Insurance Company, of San Francisco, has suspended. S. Brown, a native of Cynthiana, Ken tucky, has committed suicide on account of domestic troubles. In the case of tlio application of Mrs. Fair, in the Supreme Court, for a new trial, a hearing was postponed until No vember the 11th. The Chinese, at Los Angelos, number about fifty. A mob was determined to make them leave Hie town before hang ing them. The mob fired on them from roof, killing one woman and several men. Quiet has been restored. MICHIGAN Cry A.r Urlp. Dethoit, October 25.—The State Re lief Committee 1ms issued an appeal in which it is stated that from 12,000 to 11,- 000 peoplo in that State have lost every thing by the fires which continue to burn, with new ones springing up. Money and supplies may be sent direct to tbo Michigan Relief Committee at Chicago. MASSACHUSETTS. Young Ltd* found Dead. Boston, October 25.—Kale Leon, aged 18 years, was found in Western av enue, with her bead crushed. There were signs of a struggle. No particu lars. ILLINOIS Xalei DttMter on Ihr J.mke—X,/ie«Hhli». Chicago, October 25.—Tho schooner Messner has been sunk and five lives were lost The banks are running smoothly. There ore few calla for loons, and depos its are abundant. Many Eastern and foreign companies are paying their losses promptly. The grain and live stock markets are brisk, with as much doing as bofore the fire, and in lumber, much more. Baltimore, Ootober 25.—It is under stood that the House of Bishops passed the canon on tho Bitual, as reported by the Joint Committee, by a vote of twen ty-four to nineteen.
