Tfre Vote via taken and reeulted : Trammell, 82; Welch, 7; and Mr. Tram- men wax declared to be duly elected. Meaarn. Welch, Hinton and Beese were appointed a Committee and con dneted him to the Chair. This I promise yon I will do, firmly and rcso- utely, to the best of my skill and ability. I ask of you, iu behalf of myself, that charity and indulgence which I trust I may reasonably cipect, and entertain the confident hope that our convocation may be for the honor of our good old State, and the advancement of the general pros perity and happiness of all her people. Mr. Bubns nominated Mr. T. W. J. Hill for Secretary, upon which the vote was token and resulted: Hill, 37; Mills ; and Mr, Hill was declared elected.— Mr. Mills was not a candidate. Mr. Hill was then qualified. Mr. Nicholls nominated Mr. B. B. Hinton for President pro tern., upon which tbe vote stood: Hinton, 36—and he was declared elected. Mr. Caxdlhb nominated Mr. J. J. Cameron, of Telfair county, for Messen ger. He received 41 votes, and was de clared elected. Mr. Hillyer nominated Capt. G. Whit Anderson, of Atlanta, for Doorkeeper, who received 39 votes, and was declared elected. On motion of Mr. Bubns, the Senate djourned until to-morrow at 10 o’clock. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. Mr. JacxsoV, of Fulton, moved to have a bill repealing tbe act known as the “HoloombeBiU," in relation to elections in the oi»y of Atlanta, read lira first tine This motion was overruled, and the bell went over until to-morrow. Mr. Soott offered the following Reso lutions, merely for the purpose of having them read for information: Resolved, bv the'Gitnend Assembly of tbe 8tate of Georgia, 1st. That Rufus B. Bullock, so-called Governor of this State, who lias resigned his office and fled the State, charged with high crimes, in intimating as he docs in a letter bearing date 23d of October, 1871, addressed to Ills jxditical friends, and the people of Uoorgia, that a majority of the House of Representatives bad pledged themselves to vote for articlee of impcach- meut against him without investigation, and that tbe Senate hod determined to unseat a sufficient number of Republican -Senators to secure liis conviction without regard to the truth and validity of the charges, lias grossly defamed this General Assembly by oliargcs which are utterly false. 2. That the statement in the same let ter, to the effect that any known portion of the people [of Georgia have recently denounced or ignored the Constitution of the United -States is utterly false and grossly defamatory of the people of this State. 3. That there is a vacancy in thu office of Governor in said State and that, in the upiuion of this General Assembly, President Trammell, of the Senate, ie en titled, ex-officio, as President under the Constitution of this State, to exercise the powers of thoExecutivo Department du ring the continuance of said vacancy. 4. That a Joint Committee of two from the House and one from the Senate be appointed to wait on tbe Hon. B. Con ley, who, as former President of the Sen ate, is now exercising tbe powers of the Executive Department, and communicate the 3d of these resolutions, and report what he may answer thereto. New York, November 1.—The Board of Health bus declared Chariestou and Key West infected porta, and vessel* thence will be quarantined until alter the 8th of November. James Fisk, Jr., was formally arrested last evening on a suit brought by Jose phine Mansfield, on a civil uction to re cover $50,000 of Mansfield’s, which Fisk used but failed to account for. He gave bail in $35,000. A letter from Mansfield to Fisk up braids him for his perfidy to her, and says it is a shame to compell her, who grew up with him from nothing to the now great Erie empress, to vindicate herself in court. She refers to his schemes revealed to her four years ago of stealing the Erie books, of staying with hiin in Jersey City, and how, when ho was buying tho New York Legislature, he said it would either result in a Fisk palace in New York or a stone palace at Sing S ng, and requested her, if it was the latter, to take a cottage outside the prison. Sho is willing to have affairs ar bitrated by Wm. H. Evarts, but says if Fisk’s power over the courts is still su preme, and Tammany still able to protect him, the reward may still be his. Register McLaughlin threatened to whip Mayor Kalb Flusch in the office of the latter, to-day, on account of the pub lication of a slander against female school teaclpcs. in a paper called The City of Brooklyn, edited by Alexander Delmar, Ex-Director of tho Bureau of Statistics at Washington and said to be an organ of the Mayor. Salter denied all knowledge of the article. Much indignation is felt against Delmar, whom McLaughlin says he will cowhide at sight. Jordan, the Cuban General, moved for a dismissal, to-day, before Judge Bene dict, on tho ground that he had been in dicted over a year without trial. Argu ment will 1)0 heard on tho 8th. John Jackson has been convicted of uttering counterfeit monoy. The Long Island Sugar Refinery isem- barassed by an excessive stock of molas ses, purchased at prices higher thau are now current, bv ouo of its officers who is missing, though not suspected of being a defaulter. The liabilities of the con cern are said to bo $725,00, and its sup pression is feared. ALABAMA Tht otlahmmm Stale Fair, Montgomery, November 1.—The Slate Fair to-day is a decided success, notwith standing the bad weather of yesterday and last night. The articles exhibited are numerous, and show great progress in the State in manufactures. The great races are yet to come off. Grant offers his interest in the the Seneca Stone Company for sale. The debt statement shows a decrease during the month of October of nearly $fi,000,000. Gold in the Treasury uearly $99,000,000; currency $10,250,000. A million and a half of 8 per cents., of the denomination of $5,000, from num ber 2,593 to number 2,818, and of the denomination of $10,000, from number 2,667 to number 2,883, have been called in. The interest on them ceases on tho first of December. Col. Robb, collector of customs at Sa vannah, has gone home, with high as surances that he will not be disturbed. A military order, issued to-day, trans fers North Carolina from the Department of the East to the Department of the South. Tho Indian Territory, north of Texas and south of Kuubuh. lias begp added to theDepavtment of Texas, under the command of General Augur, and the Department of Texas is oaded to the Military Division of the Missouri. The Department of the Platte is discontin- uecl, and the territory embraced in it is added to the Department of Missouri.
