In times post we printing ought to be d6fie at Qbo sent of government. We or# sUfl of the same opinion. The law requires that the job work shall be done at the Capital, mid that the proof sheets of the laws shall be read by the aqts on filo in Secretary of State's office, and that tho Governor shall have a supervision of the work. Three requirements indicate very clearly that the work should bo done at tbe scat of government. Besides, the party press located at tho Capital is expected to do the principal and leading work for the' party, hnd is, in otir opinion, fairly en titled to the work. If the State printing is honestly done, under the present law there is not profit enough t a warrant combinations of presses in distent portions of the State for the purpose of depriving the local proas of work that they have a right to expect.— Wo therefore hope that the Legislature will elect the Atlanta Constitution and Ihe Atlanta Sew. The profits divided be tween them will scarcely amount to are- spectable living. Under the supervision of such men pi Governors Brown, John son and others, the profits on tho State printing seldom reached $4,000 or $5,000. —MiUedgevU'e Union, Sdinst. attention tdttvasJf. Johnnie Leveret •st a clever, iadaatrioaa boy and the Tbe frets on Bullock. The Knoxville Chronicle of tbe 2d inst a Radical paper, says: The impression a resignation under such circumstances would naturally cre ate is, that the Governor felt certain of' conviction, either from the intense parti- sanism aud recklessness of his oppo nents, or from a consciousness of gailt. The Colombia, S. C., PhornLc, of the 2d, conservative, says: We see that Governor Ballook, the Radical Governor Georgia, has resigned. This he did in anticipation of the meet ing of the Democratic Legislators of Georgia. Expecting to be impeached, he resigned his ofitoe. Serious charges of official oorraption and mal-adminis. tration rest upon him. He resigned and fled, and Georgia breathes freer. The Petersburg, (Vo.) In lex, of the 1st, says: Ballook, of Georgia, the thickest of hide, and the toughest of conacienoe, of all that noble army of adventurers and thieves, has resigned the Governorship of that State, and precipitately fled to parts unknown, having previously pos sessed himself of more than five million dollars of the people’s money. Bullock’s flight will be as much a re lief to tho ridden, robbed, desperate nnd exasperated people of Georgia, as was Catalina's from Rome; when every citi zen lay down at night and awoke in the morning with an u easy end unhappy sense, that ths eyes of tue ereh-traitor might he fastened upon him. That he ;orgcd himself with plunder before he eft—that he filled his pockets andmoqsy bags with substance, hard earned, of the wople, above whom he was elevated es Jbief Magistrate by frond and violenoe, mattered little; the people r-#willing to ray each a heavy price, even, to rid ikemsolves of such a nuisance audet sc. And, again; ' ‘ Let uo be tbsnkfnl that hero in Vir ginia, though we have some ooeaeions of regret and complaint, we have no fui}h foul creatures in pV >, in bur Bute Gov- ■oat, os Ibis canting, and whining, rapacious carpet-bag scoundrel, Bul lock. There Bote been no snob rings among as, as that of whioh be and his tools and creatures were the centres and manipulators—the railroad rings which coined such amplo fraudulent gains for the oarpot-bag swindlers of Georgia. It is rplemunt to reflect that their race of fraud and theft is ended—that Balloon has rasigned and fled, and Kimball, it is stated, has failed. So may it be ever with the gre idy, unprincipled characters, who have fastened their fangs on the fallen body of theSontb, and would prey on tire blood of her helpless people. The Nashville Union and Americm of the 2d instant sayst It is very likely he would have been impeached, os he has been guilty of crimes that ought to subject bin to that suit of discipline.
