Tan Finsr Methodist Carmen.The
congregation at the First Methodist
Church ia, no doubt, delighted with the
return of Dr. W. P. Han-iaoo aa pastor.
No minister oould suit the people bettor.
He always preaches to large oongTega

, more highly he is appreciated. No man
has a better capacity foe building up and
sustaining a congregation than he has.
Bee. Analnius Wright, who has had

year, haa been a most aooeptable pastor.
He ia able and earn eat in the pulpit, and

Put Him nr his Lima Ban.—A man
who had, possibly smelt too freely of a
bottle that had contained benzine, delib

went to bed in a gutter, on the corner of
Walton and Cone streets. His lower
extremities were entirely nude, but he
coiled down into a perfect beatitude of
repose, covered only with hia coat, which
he had removed for the purpose. And
he lay like a porker taking a snoose, with
the fames of liquor around him.
Mayor’s Coubt.—While the people
were yet slumbering and haunted with
visions of Smith and James borne on a
tidal wave of thundering Democratic

the guests and dismissed the suppliants
