The stooks of merchandize uto notgone- rslly heavy, but the assortments of our merchants nro very good. Almost any • article needed can loo found. If the river wero navigable to this point, many eioros that are now nearly empty would he filled, largo quantities of goods for this market being now at Eufaula uwait- iug navigation. We called to see Col. Ifogan, our model Postmaster, yesterday, and while ip his office he showed us a largo frac tion of tho postofiico effects of tho lute Confederacy. S. mail matter hero for some time, and upon application for instructions ns to what disposition to mato of it, lie 1ms been directed to for ward it all to Washington City.
