Among them is the bii-lgo over tho creek in Girard. Wo hope that a contract for this bridge will bafpoedily made. It i« one of interest to this city and of importance to many of tho people of Kusrtdl county who come here to trade or on other business. The present route across the creek to the bridge over the river i- a very winding way to pT.-ons coining in or going out by the Crawford, Salem or West Point roads. In a Idition to this, the winter rains will soon make the route now traveled almost im passable for loaded vehicles. The Government is anxious to res estab- lis all old and as many new postoffices as are necessary for the convenience of tho people, and to have tho mails regularly carried to them. Our postmaster, Col. Hogan, is ready to give any assistance o r information in his power to further this enterprise.
