chase tickets until they felt assured that a
day had been fixed when the drawiug
would positively take place. Iu conse
quence of this impression, the sale of
tioksts—while largely in excess of the
number sold previous to the postpone

the Association—has not been to such an
extent as to enable the Directors to make

T» LAST GRAND GIFT OONCKVT IN AID OF
TUB MASONIC RELIEF ASSOCIATION OF
MOBFOLK POSTPONED—To
THE PUBLIC.
Id selecting the 3d day of September
as the date upon which to havo their last
Gift Conoert, the Direotors of the Masonic
Relief Association were iniluenoed by the
belief that there would be a sufficient
length of time between the publication
of the soheme and the above-mentioned
date to enable them to dispose of such a
number of tickets as to ensure n full
drawing and an avoidance of scaling the
prizes. While the enterprise bus been
liberally patronized by a large number of
purchasers of tickets iu every section of
the United States and the British Provin
ces, yet the impression seems to have
prevailed with many who were willing to
aid in the work of completing tho Ma
sonic Temple in this city, by investing
this scheme, Unit the Concert would be
postponed, and as a consequence they
have declined to purchase tickets until an
announcement should be made that a duy
had been fixed upon when the drawing
would positively take place. The Direct
ors, being assured that their patrons will
be satisfied with the roasoos actuating
them in making a postponement, have

as the time to hold their Second Grand
Gift Concert and Drawiug, and.they hope
that orders for tickets will be sent imme
diately by ill who desire to obtain one or
more of tho valuable Cash Prizes which
they offer. Tho public may bo confident
that the same fairness and honesty which
characterized their first drawing will be
observed in this.
