GEORGIA NEWS. —The Macon papers of Thursday say that Senator Perry is apparently doing well and his case progressing favorably. —Cnpt. J. II. Ilanter, who was so se verely wounded by negroes, on election day, in Quitman, is said to bo improving. —The Savannah Advertiser says that the Grangers have sent about ono hun dred bales of cotton to that port to be sent to Liverpool. —Judge Weams, of the City Court of Macon, lined a man fifty dollars and ooRts, ou Wednesday, for whipping his wifo. Good lick! The Judge’s, we moan. —The Cittern reports tho colored schools of Dalton progressing tinely. There are two of thorn, with scholars nnmboring one hundred at onoh. —Thera was a white frost in the vicini ty of Augusta, Monday and Tuesday nights, and considerable vegetation was killed. The effects of the cold and frost were also apparent in the city. * —Mr. Win. E. Goodwin, a compositor on the Augusta Chronicle it- Sentinel, died Tuesday atternoon at his boarding-house, ou Walker street, of consumption, after an illness of two months.
