From President Rounsaville’s report of the Rome Library association it appears I that there are 3200 volumes on the shelves; j 325 members are enrolled and there is a balance of f250 in the treasury. Five thous and books were in circulation the past , year, and the library is in a prosperous con dition. Williams, who was with Governor Brown, is the only surviv ing ex-secretary of ex-department in the period mentioned above, and the major nos for years been confined to his bed. The will of the late Henry Todd, col ored, of Darien, has been opened. He be queaths his entire estate and revenues to his wife during her natural life. At her deatli the estate shall be converted into cash. Five hundred dollars of the money shall be spent in purchasing a hell for the colored. Baptist church. A sufficient amount shall also Ire appropriated for the erection of a school for colored children. The balance is to be distributed as follows : Ten per cent, to the white Presbyterian church, five per cent, to the. white Episco pal church, five per cent, to the white Methodist church, ten per cent, to the col ored Baptist church, ten per cent, five per cent, eacbi to the two colored Metho dist churches, five per cent, to the colored Episcopal church, five per cent, to the l white school in Darien, five per cent, to i the colored school in Darien, twenty-five 1 per cent, to his hrother-in-law, Frank j Cardone, twenty-five per cent, apportion- j ed to relatives in St, Augustine and Jack- ; sonville, Fla.
