Times Union: Sunday, at Pablo Beach,
as Mr. Lionel Jacobs was passing a wood
pile near the Murry Hall hotel, when a
dog suddenly emerged from under it and
bit him on the calf of the leg. Fortunately
Ur. Sonuners was within call, at the hotel,
and immediately cauterized tne wound
and thinks Mr. Jacobs need not fear any
ill effects from it. Mr. French, the lessee
of the hotel, then procured a double barrel
gun and had the dog shot. Mr. Jacobs
informs us he did not see the dog until
he was bitten, as he was attacked from
behind.

Last Sunday night, in Augusta, Mack

Mr. Mark Cheatham, the carpenter, of
Athens, who disappeared so mysteriously

The railroad commission has decided to
meet on the 10th of August, to hear com
plaints of the John P. King manufarturing
company, of Augusta, vs. the Port Royal

nies, on account of overcharge on switch

Butler Herald : Mr. Dan Castleberry, of
Howard, killed a large rattlesnake last
week bearing ten rattles. Mr. Castleberry
