masticating food precisely as the first set ;

Charles Edwards is a negro bov about li
years old living at Atlanta. Sunday he ;
went to the camp meeting at Salt Springs.
Returning in the afternoon, he got off the j hi
train at Austell, and. while viewing the
sights of the town, was left. He ran half
a mile and caught the train, which was
not moving very rapidly. The unusual i
exertion and the great heat exhausted him ,
and caused him to be very sick. When he •
arrived in Atlanta he was in danger of ,
losing his life. Friends parried him home,
where medical attention was given him. J
At last accounts, however, he was still ■
very ill.
J, W. Speaker, of Atlanta, one of F. E. 1
Block’s traveling men, had his right foot
severely mashed on the Some train at I
Kingston Saturday. Mr. Speaker lmd just
come in on the Rome train and was taking j
off his luggage, preparatory to taking the
Western and Atlantic train for Calhoun.
He had lifted off one piece of baggage and
got back on the platform to eel another
when the train backed. A piece of plank j
extending from one platform to tlie other j
was pushed back, catching Mr. Speaker’s i
foot, and mashing it against the side of the
door. Had it not been for the heel of his j
shoe his foot would have been mashed to a 1
jelly. It will he several weeks before Mr. |
Speaker will be able to resume his duty. j
