Some witnesses whom they deem impor- | taut are on the “wing” and the investiga- I tion ceases until they arc brought to the ! front. Thus far it seems that the murder j is shrouded in mystery. Considerable excitement was occasioned in Savannah by the finding, early Thurs day morning, of a human foot and the por tion of an ankle on south Broad street. A man named Penaker was killed nt Yalaha last week by one Gold. The kill ing was the result of an old feud between the two men, but the shooting seems to be regarded as unjustifiable. He survived, however, until Wednesday. Gold was arrested and placed under a $500 bond.
